What's the thing you hate most about your Leaf?

I think this is because you are cycling through a defrost mode. The car turns on the AC and pulls in fresh air to get the right humidity.

    Thinking of Getting A Leaf

Go build a Leaf S with QC on the Nissan website, and you'll see that they want to sell you the car for about $300 over MSRP, probably due to dealer accessories like floor mats or something. Some people would never consider a deal like that. Others would be fine with it. The bottom line is that...

    Thinking of Getting A Leaf

Seems high to me. This is the S model with the QC package? The "VIN verification" fee jumps out at me the most as being unnecessary. To really evaluate the deal, you'll want to ask the salesman or the finance guy for: -Sales price of the car (or capitalized cost); -Lease term; -Money factor...

    I Beat EPA's 2.9 Miles/KWh : Report Your Monthly Mileage

This is straight from Carwings, so I assume it's just what the car used, and what I drew from the wall (or the EVSE at work) would be a few percent higher.

What's the thing you hate most about your Leaf?

The three things that come to mind: The brakes are grabby and impossible to modulate. The steering is really light and not really that accurate. And, although this is not really that big of a deal, the steering wheel heater button is blocked by the steering wheel. This wouldn't be a problem if...

New Nurburgring record holder.... yes, also a hybrid.

Or they are waiting to release the time so the LaFerrari doesn't have a benchmark. :?

    Official BMW i3 thread

Interesting. My first question is whether it's going to cost $60,000.

Job change: Should we trade-in for more range mid-lease?

You can check the payoff quote online if you have an nmac account. Go to the "Statements" tab, and then under that there is a "view payoff quote" sub tab.

Official Cadillac ELR thread - a luxury version of the Volt

Here's a not-very-flattering review of the E L R by Autoblog: http://www.autoblog.com/2013/11/25/2015-cadillac-elr-review-first-drive/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The author's main problem was when the engine kicked on:

    What's a Gid?

Excellent point. If you have a Mini and a Suburban, both with an 80% full gas tank, you would have two very different absolute gallons of gas, versus having 12 gallons in both tanks.

    Waiting for an SD card

Ah, I see. I thought there was a separate SIM card, and the SD contained navigation maps, like the DVDs do in other/older cars.

    Used 2013 Leaf SL?

Agree with the lease new sentiment. Also, something is fishy here. The MSRP of an SL is $34,000+. Are you sure it's an SL? But that aside think of it this way: Let's say you got a not particularly great deal and negotiated the price down from supposed MSRP to $31,000. Just the federal credit...

    Waiting for an SD card

I assume that having someone here upload the contents of their SD card to Dropbox or something for you to download onto an SD card you bought from Amazon or Best Buy would not work?

    Two wrecked leafs (during transport)

Very cool. Mainly commenting to subscribe. Post pictures as the build progresses!

    Problem with brakes

I'm also experiencing this on my '13. The quick fix only helps for maybe the rest of that trip. Once the car is off and on again it's back to "normal."

    Hybrids don't make financial sense

If you are TRULY trying to save money, you can find a rock and a stick, fashion a spear, kill a wild horse or hog, skin it, tan the hide, craft yourself a pair of shoes, and walk. I would venture to say that while cost definitely factors into the decision, 90% percent plus of the members here...

    Leaf S + charge package (WA): $0 down, $249/mo

That money factor seems way too low to be true. Have you plugged in your numbers to an online lease calculator? It is possible Nissan changed it, but I Tier 1 money factor in August was something like .0017. EDIT: Looks like I am behind the times and the money factors did go significantly down...

Picked up my 2013 SV yesterday :)

Welcome, and don't be afraid to ask questions. You probably live right down 1431 from me. Don't be surprised if you keep finding "reasons" why you need to take the car to work.

Stoaty's Guide to Energy Efficient Driving of the Leaf

This is probably the #1 problem with drivers in any situation. If drivers' education taught nothing other than (1) to always think ahead and (2) which pedal is the gas and which is the brake, so many people would immediately become better drivers.
