Just drove a 300KM trip with a small one hour l2 charge top up in -15C (Record low in April) I arrived at my destination with 20 km remaining on the distance bar - Here is my question: Because our 2013 Leaf reminded us to charge at around 28 km remaming and the 2018 did not - is the...

    Help with this IPLC.com outlet

Living in Canada with a Leaf is a little more challenging, these days. Most employers get money from Provincial power companies to switch to a plug from IPLC.com - I dislike this plug. It alternates current in such a way that a Leaf charger no longer works. Does anyone have any idea how...

Canada - stinking cold winter coming

Hey - you bought the SV from Ron in PA!? good for you. I bought the SL. We've gone to Moose Jaw and back... and I only charge to 80% unless i do highway driving. I have three chargers, now - the EMW 6 KW L2 Juicebox, and Open EVSE that I built that does 220V 3KW and 120V @ 720A to trickle...

    EVSE options for 2013+ Leafs

If you have the pot all the way to the left - it is 30A by default. you need to unplug - and turn the pot slightly to the right - or about 1/3 of the way then plug it back in - connect to your car or simulator Put a clamp meter on one of the hot wires and adjust the amperage until it reads 25A...

    EVSE options for 2013+ Leafs

I also want to add my 2 cents about the Juicebox - I got it last week, and was one of the first to finish the project which didn't work at first. I went through all the steps and my troubleshooting with Valery (the Juicebox designer/owner) and we found that the instructions didn't include a...

Canada - stinking cold winter coming

Scott - Not that long a commute - about 50Km each day round trip. You think it won't be a problem? I was thinking of putting an interior car warmer inside and keeping it warm... hopefully that would give a little heat from the top down. Ironic - that resistive heating is ok by maintenance...

Canada - stinking cold winter coming

I can plug in to 120V socket - but I can't get the relay on in the car and the error light (all three actually) flashes. My Open EVSE is down to 6 A and I can't even get it to work!! I should make a vid and post it of the stupid plugins they installed - and the hospital admin says they don't...

Canada - stinking cold winter coming

I've called Nissan but they are in the USA and I live in Saskatchewan, Canada where it gets to -40C (-40F). A typical winter day is -20-25C or -18-20F. I can't plug my car in at work as the plugins are designed for conventional block heaters. An EVSE doesn't get a chance to latch in! Nissan...
