    Cold weather

I have a Euro spec Leaf. I use the data from the screen behind the wheel. This always matches the Carwing reports for average energy data, but not for the distance traveled.

    Cold weather

I find the consumption data in carwings correct. The driving distance is however too low in carwings (off by 2,5%). My dash average energy economy correlates with the carwings data, but not the distance data. The total kW consumption data in carwings seems to be match the dash distance data...

    Cold weather performance

I see excactly the same charging behavior as Stanton. My car used to finish charging to 80% somewhere between 10-30 minutes before the charging end set time of 7 am. Then I went on a trip where I needed 3 cycles of 100% charges and drives to LBW. The next 4 days the car stopped charging to my...

Any tips for cold weather driving

I dont think it is true that you get that much drop in range because of low temperatures. You do loose some range, but not that much. An example: My Leaf used once 16.1kW at 0C and I then drove 5km after getting LBW. In 0C my Leaf should only had 16,8kW available according to your chart...

Changes in 2012's that were not announced?

The VSP switch can probably be retrofitted. My '12 Leaf do have the VSP switch. The middle of the lower three switches.

    Prolonging battery life, temperature, state-of-charge

A caravan is a camper. I'm norwegian and probably used the english word instead of the american.

    Prolonging battery life, temperature, state-of-charge

Thank you for your response. :) Can't wait to get my Leaf, even though it will be mid winter when I get it. :D

    Prolonging battery life, temperature, state-of-charge

My wife uses the car for her short commute on weekdays. On weekends we usually travel to our caravan close to 60 miles from home. In freezing temperatures and hilly terrain we really do need 100% charge to get to and from our caravan. We will get the 2012 Leaf and i expect the heated seats and...

    Prolonging battery life, temperature, state-of-charge

I've been following this thread for a while now, trying to learn how I should prolong the life of the battery in my Leaf when I finally get it (around christmas time). You have mainly discussed higher temperatures and not low temperatures. Is the reason Nissan tells us to avoid 100% charge...

    Battery cooling before recharging

In cold areas, would it be best to use an end timer set closely to the departure time? Then the battery should be warm from the charging process and should give some better range.

    Leaf tires in the snow?

The cheapest place to buy rims and tires are in shops on the net. I also probably have to bring wintertires along when picking up the car from the dealer. Most likely there willc be snow and ice on the roads by then.

    Leaf tires in the snow?

Nobody knows if 15" rims will fit on the Leaf then? Anybody with a Leaf that will take an educated guess at it? :?:

    Leaf tires in the snow?

I live in Norway and we get a quite a bit of both ice and snow in the winter. I've ordered a Leaf and need wintertires for it. I want the tires to be as narrow as possible in order to get good grip on snow and ice and also lower rolling resistance. I'm having problems finding the best...

    What is this switch?

Its the switch for the back seat heater. It must have the cold weather package, most likely a 2012 Leaf.
