Same response, although honestly, only took 30 seconds to answer the questions so I'm not too terribly offended.

Nissan LEAF Light Bulb Mods: LEDs Anyone?

Not sure how accurate the specs are, but to my eye, they appear brighter than the stock halogen high beam bulbs and close to as bright as the OEM low beam LED lights. May be that the LED color temperature make them appear brighter than they are. Here is a picture I just took in the dark to try...

vleds.com http://www.vleds.com/bulb/h-series/h11/5k-white-22w-led-headlights-fog-lights-h11-1-pair.html I have seen them on ebay as well in H7/H11

Nissan LEAF Light Bulb Mods: LEDs Anyone?

I tried some 22w H11 single LED bulbs to replace the halogen high beams and have to say I am quite impressed. The original halogen bulbs looked very yellow and were dimmer than the low beam LED stock lights. I had tried some 68 LED H11 bulbs before but they were not bright enough to work as...

I completely agree with your data points. My dash efficiency numbers closely resemble yours.

18" rims With 205/45/18 dunlop sp sport maxx tires

I like 18's on the Leaf aesthetically, I put 225-45-18's on a set of Mazda take offs. The speedometer went from reading 2mph over actual speed to 1 mph under actual speed at 70 mph. The tires I installed are AA traction rated so they are soft compound with increased friction. As a result I've...

......when you feel out of touch for not knowing how much a gallon gas costs......what is the cost of regular these days? I honestly don't know. :o

18" Rims on my LEAF! What do you think?

I'm a fan of 18's for sure. Did you put LRR or high traction/performance tires and did you notice much of a hit in range? I put some 18's with some high traction performance tires on mine and I seem to have lost some range (~15%) even taking in account the larger diameters effect on the...

2 Years of Leaf : Things to Cheer

Things to cheer: I have not been to a gas station in almost 2 years, not even for a Slurpee. I have beaten every car that pulls up along side me in a race from light to light (I don't race farther than 100 yards or so) Carpool Lane (except I'm bumming over the 10 Fastrak lanes) Quiet...

    range impact of wheels/tires

Big improvement in wet handling. Drove in rain today with the wider ZR (new to me-used) tires and at least a 100% improvement. Even accelerating on corners, little or no wheel spin.

    range impact of wheels/tires

The offset on the 18" Mazda rim, I believe is 52mm which was really close to the caliper, so I put 5mm spacers on the fronts only. The rears were no problem.

Link was OK but I had to change settings in picasa, should work now.

    range impact of wheels/tires

I up-sized to 225 ZR 18 tires and rims off a MazdaSpeed3. The improvement in handling was phenomenal, however the hit to efficiency was almost as phenomenal as well. On my daily 32 mile one way 70 mph freeway commute, I went from requiring 6 bars to now using 7-8 bars. I feel like the braking...

Has anyone installed an additional battery pack?

I have read several posts that discussed the feasibility/non-feasibility of adding a range extending battery pack but I have yet to know of an actual install and how it is working. The closest thing to a usable pack I have read about is the one that Enginer was promoting, however I have not seen...

On decreased capacity battery-Is charging 100% still bad?

I get what your saying, but what I guess I'm asking is 100% still 100% when the BMS in actually limiting the healthy cells to less than 100%?

On decreased capacity battery-Is charging 100% still bad?

the top-balanced voltage seen by all the cells will be limited to the weakest cells ability to accept a charge, correct? I'm still trying to get my mind around how the BMS works. So if the weaker cell will only accept say 4.0 volts, then all the cells, even the healthy ones, will only see 4.0...

Public EV Charging Stations at the SCAQMD in Diamond Bar, CA

On 11/5 I was using it and smelled a burning smell coming from the transformer just behind the station and it shut down around halfway through the charge. I called it in, hopefully this isn't going to be an on going problem.

On decreased capacity battery-Is charging 100% still bad?

A question for those who have a better understanding of the Leaf battery chemistry and BMS. My battery only has 11 capacity bars now. My understanding is that the BMS is limiting capacity due to a few weaker cells that are limiting charge to the entire pack. So my question is this: Since a few...
