H&R Block refused to help me get EVSE tax credit

I did mine on TaxAct, and didn't quality for the EVSE credit (30%) due to AMT/whatever because of the EV Credit (full 7,500). I'm sure many are in a similar situation. Fortunately it was only 30% of the $800, so not too bad. I deducted more than that for donating all my clothes that no longer...

How to heat the Leaf quickly

It also does not heat when in ECO, only D. Like others have said, use the preheat with a timer while plugged in -- it heats the coolant much quicker than using the battery and saves you range. It doesn't really seem to draw much current either so start it earlier so it's ready when you are. And...

'Fringe' - now sponsored by Nissan LEAF

Are you sure they weren't in an alternate universe when they actually found charging stations? :)

is anyone charging to only 80% with standard charge?

Warm weather (60+) we charged to 80% without any problems. Maybe 100% on weekends for extra driving. With Winter (32F mornings), we are charging 100% every day and pre-heating the climate control before unplugging.

    Oklahoma

Welcome to the serious minority in Oklahoma. Glad you were finally able to get one. And yes, let them drive and they will find a way to buy it. We had ours picked out days after the first Oklahoma owner took us for a ride in his Leaf. We've past 5,000 miles already, and still climbing!

Battery below 80% but not all regen bubbles available?

I've seen this as well, but it seems the fourth circle showed up when I lightly applied the brake.

    Stereo and/or speaker upgrade recommendation

It seems to work well both in the morning and afternoon, the XM goes off in the parking garage though.

    Southern California Power Disruption

This line really stood out to me, it's the same theme used when comparing local and foreign oil reserves. It was just funny to read it in the context of electricity.

Stoaty's Guide to Energy Efficient Driving of the Leaf

Meh, driving this slow just makes annoying "big-car" owners hate EV's and trash talk them. I drive in traffic, and I pull 80 KW at stop lights to show "Mr. Big Car Tiny Weanie" that EV's can get up and go. And for August, our Leaf was ranked 1,003. :) If I -really- need more range, I just...

    Electric cars are Gay

I saw a roadster in San Fran this past June - pretty sweet looking. This is why everyone needs to floor it in D from every light when you're next to one of "those" people to show them that EV is power. Change their mind with a ride and/or drive. You'll never change the mind of the average...

    Tax Credit Scam?

You did the right thing to walk away. I know for a FACT that you would NOT have qualified for the tax credit. Only the original NEW purchaser of the vehicle is eligible for the tax credit, regardless of whether or not they put a single mile on the vehicle. I'm not surprised to see this...

    Running the AC while parked

As others said, I'm mostly concerned with one of my kids putting it in R/D by "accident." And my envious friends might just want to take it for a spin or change parking spaces to freak me out, etc. It's how Geeks have fun during lunch.

    Just cause it's electric...

If there's a trip to be made, I strongly encourage taking our Leaf. Unless we're driving to another city, it's at the top of the car list. Heading downtown? TTL. Heading to the store to get milk? TTL. Heading to grab some lunch? TTL. Picking kids up from school? TTL. And so on. We've really...

    I Beat EPA's 2.9 Miles/KWh : Report Your Monthly Mileage

We have 4.1 on the dashboard display, the Carwings web site displays a much higher number (5.9??). We are currently Gold on the scale of efficiency.

    Jamb this in your LEAF

I'm sure Ferb would come up with something much, much cooler. Yes, I have a 8- and a 4-year-old

    True cost of electricity

From what I read yesterday (a report from Coal producers that was posted here) there are no coal power plants in CA.

    Pandora

It does this with whatever is the audio application in the volume tray of the phone. It works with DI.fm, Pandora, and some other streaming app I have (tunecast?).

    Window Tinting

Like having an outlet nearby is going to be an issue for anyone with a Leaf. :)

Best ICE/hybrid choice to tide me over

I've look at a TDI for the second car, but I'm concerned as well about the post 3-year, 36,000 mark as the first service is at 40,000 and includes a $480 flush of the "DSG" transmission. But the savings over 3 years of using diesel compared to premium 91 octane (which it seems most cars take...

    Shipping suggestions

We had our Leaf shipped using Plaza trucking. The route is really more important than the company use choose as they are almost all brokers for a network of trucks that handle certain routes. If you can swing a good deal with the broker (average fee is $200, we paid less) and can get a decent...
