Public discussion of Tony Williams ban from Mynissanleaf

I have just learned that Tony Williams was banned from this forum (and possibly other related forums owned by the same person). I'd like to know why. He has a wealth of knowledge of many EV topics and was a paid vendor. Thanks, Jeremy

2016 SV/SL Needed for an afternoon of logging CAN data

Hi! I'm looking for a 2016 Leaf owner who is willing to hang out for two hours while I log CAN bus data from the car. Your leaf will not be modified in any way, I'm just using the diagnostics port to listen to the car's communications. I don't even need to drive the car, but I would actually...

Juke wheels and Michelin MXM tires $350 to swap with OEM

So with my lease ending I am looking to revert my car to near stock... I have a set of Nissan Juke wheels with Michelin MXM tires on my leaf that have about 16,000 miles on them with light wear. I am looking for someone local with stock "mid range" wheels that is willing to swap for some cash...

S Climate Control in 2011-2012 Models

While fiddling with my climate control to find the origin of some CAN messages, I took a picture of the climate control interface plug. I recently pulled up a pic of a 2013 S model Climate control plug. The keying looks the same. 2012: 2013 S Model (no heat pump) Electrically, we're...

Taking my leaf in for Cell Voltage Loss Inspection

I have noticed in the past cell pair #57 has deviated when getting down below low battery warning. Soon it was "around" low battery warning. Then ~70 gids. Now, around 100 gids it starts deviating. It's obvious to me that I have a cell pair that is aging prematurely. Last night after going to...

MiM: Tricking the inverter for better performance

As a few of you know I've been bugging everyone I've met at Nissan for the coveted "Nismo VCM" upgrade that is ONLY available in Japan. Since it's very very very restricted (it must be done in Japan on a '13+ leaf, etc etc) by Nissan I've begun to explore different avenues on how to get the...

BESIDES MORE RANGE, what would you like to see in LEAF gen 2

This is a thread discussing things OTHER THAN MORE RANGE, A BIGGER CAPACITY BATTERY, OR IMPROVED BATTERY LONGEVITY that you'd like to see in the next generation leaf. Things like: -Faster charging (10kW) -More aerodynamic -Higher performance motor -Better Navigation -More options for...

Tien Lowering Springs from Japan [SOLD]

I have a set of Tien lowering springs imported from Japan. New in box, never installed. They are designed to be used with the stock suspension. Supposedly gives a bit of more firm feel while dropping the ride height 2-3 inches. Part number is High Tech Spring (SKK32-G1B00) $200 plus shipping.

    B0133 NO BATT CAPACITY WARRANTY

So I'm getting my battery check done at Glendale Nissan and they let me know that this has been added to my service record: B0133 NO EV BATT CAPACITY WARRANTY. They didn't add it, they think it was added by corporate. I think it's because I opted out of the settlement. I encourage others who...

    One Stock 16" Wheel $50

I have one stock 16" wheel from my 2012 for sale for $50. They come with the blue center cap and nothing else (no TPS/tire). I've upgraded to Juke wheels and have already sold three of my stock wheels. I strongly prefer local pickup but if I must ship it's $100 for the wheel shipped anywhere...

    Apple iPhone/WiFi adapter development

Seeing the succuess of Jim's Android app, I'd like to start a thread for serious Apple iOS development of a similar app. The major 'kink' in the apple version is that the ELM 327 Bluetooth devices won't work. Thus a WiFi adapter is required. I have just ordered a Vgate iV350 which is a wifi ELM...

    The Aftermarket Traction Battery Thread

This thread is dedicated to the crazy idea that given enough money, engineering time, luck, blood, sweat, and tears, one could develop an aftermarket traction pack for the leaf that has more capacity than a new Nissan pack. I want to persue this because I am very underwhelmed by Nissan's...

It's Offical: Only three temp sensors in pack of a 2013 Leaf

Look what I found in the 2013 Service Manual! :P Numbers 9-11 are temperature sensors 1, 4, and 2 respectively. Yes, the manual specifically states "Battery temperature sensor 4" Guess the LH side doesn't matter temperature wise?! Edit: typo!

[SOLD] Leviton 30A J1772 Cable and EVI ICS200b case

Update: Both items have been sold. Thanks! So I was planning on making a nice OpenEVSE for my home charging needs, but I've decided to get a nice UL listed Leviton unit insted. I figured one less thing to worry about when I'm testing out the second on board charger I'm adding. As such, I'm...

Post android app LBW screenshots here!

GregH's work on active can communication and Turbo3's app has opened up a new view into the life of our battery packs. I am curious as to what modules, if any, wear faster due to their position in the battery pack. I intend to detect this by tracking lowest and highest cell pairs as many leafs...

Adding a Brusa charger under the hood for '11/'12s

Welcome! This thread is dedicated to those with 2011 or 2012 Leafs and are interested in adding a Brusa charger (or chargers, more on that in a bit) under the hood in place of the original inverter cover. It turns out the original cover (which looks like a “valve cover” for an engine) is mostly...

REFUEL 2013 at Laguna Seca [Update: Nissan will provide qc]

I didn't see a thread specifically for this years event, so I figured why not start one. I'll update this post as the event draws near. The website is: http://www.refuelraces.com (although it needs updating) and the event is scheduled for June 30th 2013. I think I'm going to rent a truck using...

My gid count now is higher than when I bought the car

My gid count was 271 when I first got the car in June of last year, car was built in February. It's now at 278 as of Saturday. Will have to do a dead to full charge and record the kWh draw to see if I've "gained" capacity.

Sacramento Area Leafs Meeting [Thread Retired]

I'm curious to see if any Sac owners would like to do a meetup. Who's with me? Sadly, I have moved out of the area. I plan to return, as I'm going to my companies satellite office, but it may be a few years. Previous Meetings: March 2nd The California Automobile Museum February 16th...
