    LAX terminal 6 chargers

My down payment for the ActiveE was less than my Leaf down payment. My lease payment for the ActiveE is LESS than my Leaf lease payment. The Model S is in another league as far as costs are concerned. Potentially a fantastic vehicle, but why should I wait for a car that is going to have it's...

    LAX terminal 6 chargers

Hmmm ... that seems a bit unfair. As a Leaf and ActiveE driver that doesn't seem right. But hey that's fine. We don't know nothin'. Here's a question for all - does anyone think LAX or any other similar facility will start installing DC quick chargers? And if they do - will they have...

    LAX terminal 6 chargers

Fine - prime spots not needed. But the idea of L1 spots in Lot C makes sense in my opinion. Lot C has the shuttle so put it at the far end if needed. But L1 outlets would be a lot better than L2 spots no one will use in short-term parking if they start charging.

    LAX terminal 6 chargers

The free parking is the real attraction here. If LAX begins to charge for the parking, the L2 J1772 EVSEs will just collect dust. I suppose it might be useful when dropping/picking someone up, but even then it's doubtful how long one would use the spots. If they do start charging for EV...

    LAX terminal 6 chargers

Questions about the free parking in Lot 6: I have entered Lot 6 and parked in Lot 6 for a few days and not paid when I exited from Lot 6. However, what about these two scenarios: 1) If I enter Lot 6, drive over the internal bridge and park in Lot 5 (to be closer to my terminal) and then a...

Long Beach Airport - New Parking Garage, FREE Parking for EV

Would be very interested to hear if anyone does park here and manage to leave without paying. Just used the LAX Terminal 1 garage and what a great experience that was. Charged up, free parking ($60 for two days). Adding Long Beach to the list certainly expands the options for flights.

Dealers Who Offer Public Charging (and those who don't)

One more to add to the list: West Covina Nissan in West Covina, California (Los Angeles County) 205 North Citrus Street West Covina, CA 91791-1617 (626) 732-1000 Just off of 10 Freeway & Citrus in West Covina They have two chargers in their main lot, but both were occupied by gigantic SUVs. I...

Revision 2 upgrade for Nissan EVSE - Allows full level 2!

My vote: no need for the lower charge rate. Lower charge rates don't seem particularly useful (it's low enough at 12A 120V or 16A 240V already). The promise of a higher rate (20A 240V) is definitely worth it obviously. That being said, I will likely have to put in a dedicated L6-20 outlet for...

Fast Low Cost Charging - All EVSE Questions Answered!

I am. I use the EVSE Upgrade along with the Quick220. The exact product I purchased from them is this: http://www.quick220.com/Merchant5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=quick220&Product_Code=-P-102 This is our only form of charging the Leaf and it works great. Charge time from flat is...

Nissan L1 EVSE third-party upgrade to both 120V and 240V

Spot on nader. Admin (EVdriver?) - can you do this? Make the thread "sticky" and then post basic info, FAQ, as the first post in the thread? Or even just a link to the website? Phil - your upgraded EVSE has been fantastic. Turned my wife into a believer and she is now using it daily for her...

Nissan L1 EVSE third-party upgrade to both 120V and 240V

I got my Quick220 couple days ago (Package P-102): http://www.quick220.com/Merchant5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=quick220&Product_Code=-P-102 Pretty nifty. My wife might even start using the Quick220 as her power source for an electric kiln she has for her ceramic studio (in garage)...

Leaf owners: What ONE thing do you most dislike about it?

The 3.3kW charger Just doesnt make sense why they didn't put the 6.6kW charger in the first place!

Nissan L1 EVSE third-party upgrade to both 120V and 240V

Thanks for the quick reply Phil. Very helpful. That makes life easy. Dumb question: I have four wall outlets clustered together. I assume they are not independent of each other and if I plugged the two Quick220 120V into these it would be a bad idea -- correct? I have other 120V outlets in...

Nissan L1 EVSE third-party upgrade to both 120V and 240V

Whew! Just read through all the numerous pages of this thread. Hope people don't mind the length of my post, but I do have questions to clarify things and it sounds like it would be better for me to post here instead of PM'ing so other newbies like me can learn. I have bolded the key...

Unable to Restart after using AC (was AC causes failure)

I honestly wish I had time to read this thread before I took delivery of my vehicle on Tue Mar 29th, but I just haven't had time. I have not had a chance to read through the entire thread, but I am going to briefly post my recent experiences here: 1) Took delivery of my Leaf SL (VIN#00598) on...

California HOV access to BEV, PHEV and HEV

As a fellow CNG driver (2000 Civic GX then sold it for my 2000 CNG Camry), I fondly wish that more manufacturers would come back to the CNG fold. It was a sad day when the US manufacturers effectively abandoned that market. However, I think you misunderstood what I meant. Imagine if you had a...

California HOV access to BEV, PHEV and HEV

I think we're assured that the Leaf will qualify for the white sticker anytime next year without any issue. Which is a relief. Although the MiniE is not listed on the CARB-accepted list for the white stickers it also of course received them. Few things: 1) Question - somewhere I believe I...

    Battery Design and Engineering Issues

Since I have driven the Mini-E for the past 15 months I thought I'd contribute my 2 cents to this discussion regarding battery temperature and its effect on range, performance, etc. Of course, the Mini-E is quite different from the Leaf in many respects, but a few things I thought might be...
