I bought Nissan Leafs from Japan ZE1 models however i am not sure if they do have level 2 charging I only get 3.6Kw maximum on the wallbox and nothing above that even the charging screen shows 3.0 Kwh is there a way to know if I have the 6.6 On board charger. I did look at the charger and its has Toyota written on it and no power figures.

The device that connects electricity to the car is an EVSE. It seems that you are using a Wallbox branded unit. It has maximum amount of electricity it can provide based on its rating and the rating of the circuit it is on. Check both of those to learn if it is capable of charging at 6kW.

However, I am somewhat confused by your post. The following information may help clarify. Apologies if this is redundant.

In the USA:
Level 1 charging is at 120V.
Level 2 charging is between 208 to 240V. (Japan is likely at 200V.)
Both the above use the same J1772 plug.

The charger is in the car. Two versions were used by Nissan, rated at 3.3kW or at 6kW. The typical draw by the 3.3 is 16A, by the 6 is 27A. Nichicon is the only manufacturer of these that has been mentioned on this forum.

Edited to correct the units.

I'm also confused since I've never heard of any Toyota parts in a Leaf, especially the OBC. But who knows?

At about 1:30 into this video, Dala shows the label on a Leaf OBC. If yours doesn't look like this all bets are off. The one in the video has CHAdeMO but is limited to 3.6KW, so if yours is the same model that is the limit.

You mean kW?

Nichicon made the OBCs on '11 and '12 Leafs (under the hump in the rear): https://mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=3010 but I thought they moved away from that for '13+. And, for 13+, the OBC got moved to the front, under the hood as part of the PDM stack.

There are at least 3 OBC versions:
- '11 to '12 under the hump in the back Nichicon (3.3 kW but actually 3.8 kW max from the wall)
- '13+ 3.x kW in the front (which Nissan has called 3.6 kW like at https://usa.nissannews.com/en-US/releases/release-698a9e429ae04602b683514427ca41ba-us-2013-nissan-leaf-press-kit)
- '13+ the 6.6 kW OBC (6.6 kW max from the wall and 6.0 kW max to the battery) in the front.

Not sure how much the OBC changed at all on gen 2 Leaf, if any but their marketing kW values are the same vs. '13 to '17 Leafs.
