The car also keeps track of oil age and will display it as a selectable item on the console. My guess is that, if you don't do anything but EMMs and one FMM per year the oil will last a very long time, but not indefinitely.

O/M specifies 2 year minimum intervals, due to accumulation of water I'd guess. Mine was down to 82% remaining life on the minder after 2 years and 486 miles on gas. Most of those miles are the result of the dealer filling it when new, my first year only used 2.5 gallons until the FMM, the second I used 1 gallon of the 3 I put in after driving it to empty.
Also, it' best to completely empty the tank before putting in fresh, if you leave 1 gallon and add 2, you will get 2/3's of a year before FMM. You can run out of gas and still drive as far as the battery will take you to find gas. Mine was fully charged the whole time I was running on gas...
