I wonder how good the car is at energy accounting.
I am using LeafSpy and one day, I have watched the watt-hours counter white waiting on a long red light. Usually it counts 1 tick every 12s in such a case (No AC, no heater, 300W LV power), but this time, it was ticking much faster (like if there was >3kW of load).
I have verified the clima control is off, but initially dismissed it, thinking that the LeafSpy might have missed some power level update and just kept integrating the last value.
When I have checked the logs at home, it has shown I have burned two full GIDs on those lights and confirmed no AC (and that the pack should only have been providing about 550W, that is, less that 10Wh in that minute:
Since that event, I have had even funnier observations, such as Wh continuously decreasing while stopped - on that trip, I have covered 7.5mi on mere 754Wh, SGids=155, EGids=174, while I usually need ~1800Wh for that route.
My understanding is GIDs are provided directly by the car from the BMS so even if there was something wrong with LeafSpy or the data it received, GIDs should still be a reliable indication of the state of the battery...
Data: Leaf manufactured on 03/2011, I own it for last 6 weeks, 17.000 miles, 54.5Ah, 82% SOH, 79 Hx, pack balanced to within 15-18mV.
