The requirement for LEAFs to be near the warehouse to be eligible for pack replacement is a tacit acknowledgement that battery shipping costs are prohibitive outside of a location near the BigBattery warehouse. Fenix can find ("certify") installers wherever, but getting the pack to them (and returning the old pack) is not resolved.jlv said:It's also interesting how he calls the separate company (BigBattery) who they are buying the batteries from "our warehouse of CPO Batteries on the West Coast". This implies something that isn't close to being true.
This has been my suspicion all along: the logistics costs are a nightmare, and they are going to kill Fenix if the refurbs do not last as long as they hope for.

Perhaps the better approach to the logistics is to find for rent by the day garage facilities near the large car auction sites and make the technician mobile. The customer can either drive or tow their LEAF to the garage.
