I finally installed a dedicated plug on a meter for my EVSEUpgrade'd charger. There are already a few pictures but I thought I'd put mine up so that new members on the site could see. It is very nice to be able to measure on a daily basis how much juice is getting put into the LEAF. Sorry for the grainy pictures, I only have an iPhone 3G.

The first thing I did was make room in my panel for the 30A double breaker. So I replaced four of my 15A breakers with 2 Tandem (1/2 height) breakers. I could safely do this because my panel has a pair of double breaker slots containing non-load circuits: one from my my Solar Panel Inverter and another from the Whole House Surge Protector.

I bought a meter & socket from these guys http://www.hialeahmeter.com/eawame.html for $30 (excld shipping), some 30A rated cable, and a twist-loc socket for my modified EVSE. A couple of hours later (stripping and running cable that thick is not easy) and I've got a nice outlet that is far enough off the ground to make code.
