Yesterday I called them to schedule my 1yr complimentary battery check. A very friendly lady said, "how about tomorrow morning at 0745"? Perfect for me. This morning, I went down there, was met by the Leaf specialist, Mr. Mathew Guerro. He said it would take about an hour, so I walked across the street for a lazy breakfast. I walked back at 0830, and my car was waiting for me, washed and cleaned up. Mr Guerro handed me the keys with the battery report.

Of course, there was no charge; and no one tried to talk me into changing brake fluid, cabin filter, tire rotation, etc. I noticed that they have about a dozen new Leafs in stock, all colors.

IMHO, This is how dealers gain and keep loyal customers. :) :) Way to go, Leon Kamins and staff. I am now a loyal customer.

I like that kind of service. How is your battery report, how is your car doing. Website list 42 Leaf in stock for all MN San Diego locations

Wasn't my experience(s). My first time in for a tire rotation I was met by a grumpy guy who demanded that I have at least 7500 miles on the odometer. I was over 7500 but he gave me a hard time. When I picked up the car it still had the paper in it and smelled of very bad BO, so much so that I had to open the windows.

Second time was better but not great. Automatically signed me up for a brake flush and something else. I declined and they didn't push the point. Car was returned on time but I don't think it was washed. Didn't stink which was a big improvement. The best part was that the guy who drove the van was nice.

Seems like they've upgraded the service. Having a Leaf specialist is a big step forward.

 BO? you had to open the windows?
I don't have a great sense of smell. If I thought it smelled it really had to smell. Bad experience from start to "finish". You may think it funny but if it was your car I don't think you'd be laughing.

you are fussy.

Not really, ever seen the episode of Seinfeld? That can linger a long time. :p

:? you do know that Seinfeld is not real. It is comedy.
Of course, there really was a soup Nazi.

i was just at Oly Nissan (not sure if that what they called but only Nissan dealer in town) and had just washed my car so they gave me coupon for free car wash. (washed Prius)

Sorry, the lack of sarcasm translating fails me again... last time i was told to put a smiley. I am not sure what to do now. (Sarcams) I guess this will work.

As I expected, my battery report was 5 stars in every category because:

1. During the past year, (7500+miles), I've charged to 100% about 5 times----otherwise always to 80% at night in the garage with the car timer.
2. The ambient temp here in San Diego is between 40-65 degrees in winter and 60-80 degrees in summer----very seldom outside this range.
3. I've never gone to VLBW.
4. I'm an old man; I don't try to out-accelerate other cars off stoplights anymore-----been there, done that.
4a. (see above)......OK, a couple times a pick-um-up or Hummer ticked me off, so I blew him off @ a light. The Devil made me do it.
5. I'm very fussy about taking good care of my property.

My battery had 5 stars in every category but not very similar:

1. 17K miles
2. Always charge to 100%
3. Gone to VLBW maybe twice
4. Usually first off the line

I think the major issue with lost capacity is heat soaks, either at home or at work. The car is almost always parked under a cover and it's rarely 80. All the other stuff like charging to 80% is just on the edges.
