I just got up, but I don't follow your logic. Are you saying that having to pay more for the car you lease if you want to keep it is "risky"? I'd say that going the leasing route is "Safer but more expensive - you pay for safety." "Safety" in this case being not being stuck with a car with a degrading battery.
