Would love to hear about Nissan dealer in the Phoenix area, especially around Mesa, Tempe...that is where I have my LEAF reserved...but I don't know much about the local dealers.

Shingle Springs Nissan says they will sell for MSRP plus tax, title, license, reg, etc.

Carson City Nissan responded to inquires that they haven't seen any interest and may decide not to sell the Leaf at all. Sounds like Nissan has some work to do promoting in areas that aren't in the initial rollout zones.

Reno Nissan only posts a webform for electronic contact information, and it appears to be broken. If I give them a call, I will let you know what they say.

Glad to hear people say good things about Elk Grove Nissan. That is certainly a possibility.

Woodhouse Nissan in Omaha, Nebraska has confirmed via an email I got on June 4 that they will not sell over MSRP and will not charge excessive fees or required add-ons. Great to hear!

I'd highly recommend Elk Grove for anybody who is within 100 miles of their store.
+1 :D

Well, given the fact that the Leaf now exhibits some real world numbers, it's be wise to choose a dealership within a 50 mile radius. I mean, after all, you can't assume the dealer is going to hand over the car to you with a full charge once you pick up the keys right?? :p

You can always ask the dealer to handover the car with full charge.

Ofcourse, if there is a traffic jam and it takes you 8 hours to drive 50 miles (Nissan/WSJ example for the 47 mile range), then it would be a problem.

Tucson, Arizona

I can confirm that Thoroughbred Nissan on 22nd St. had agreed to sell LEAFs at the MSRP -- no haggling -- no added fees. This was told to me by their LEAF specialist, R.J. Blevins, who gave me permission to post this and tell others.

The owner of Thoroughbred Nissan, Oscar Campos, also told me a couple weeks ago that if a LEAF owners group would like to have a meeting location, he will offer his conference room and chargers for such a group. Phoenix LEAF owners, come on down for a visit!

No word from Jim Click Nissan on this yet. I have switched my choice of dealer to Thoroughbred Nissan.

Well, I got a pretty cool note from the folks at Shingle Springs Nissan. Since I'm about 89 miles and 4000 vertical feet from them, it's not likely that I'll make it home even with a full tank. The sales manager said he'd be happy to deliver the car to my doorstep. That's really excellent customer service!

Excellent Adam! Glad to see the excitement for this car at your dealership.

There will always be stupid people who end up at the least reputable dealer in town, and fall for worst of dealer mark-ups and add-ons. However, I doubt those dealers would find many victims on this site. so them showing up on here and giving it a go is a massive waste of their time. Though it would give us a good chuckle.

Look at this.

Thank you so much for the Younker Nissan info. Curious what you heard from the other Seattle area dealers - Bellevue specifically.

They refused to confirm one way or the other. So, though they are the closest to me, I won't be buying from them.

Why are we looking at MSRP as the best we can do? I suspect if a few hundred of us were to get together and shop the dealerships as a batch order, we could get pricing under MSRP.

Boardwalk Nissan in Redwood City is selling Leafs for MSRP only.

My Leaf is a Black SL!

This is great news for the thousands of Bay Area residents who have Leaf reservations. Until now, I thought I'd be buying from Elk Grove Nissan.

Be sure to update the Boardwalk Nissan webpage with this news.

For me it's being fair. We already know that dealerships have had to spend a small fortune to get Leaf ready, and it's going to be a tough slog for them to earn that back without a decent margin on the car. From my perspective, I want my Leaf purchase to be a cool experience for everyone involved, even the dealer. :)

I agree. Law of supply and demand. Dealers have the option of charging the market price, and we know that there is a limited supply. If it were not for Nissan setting it up so we can take delivery of the first cars where we want to and not have to go to the dealer to find one on a lot that the dealer purchased, they would all be over MSRP. I thank Nissan for coming up with this brilliant way of rolling out a new vehicle, and allowing us to get the car for MSRP.

You'll have a hard time getting the dealer to sell for less than MSRP also because of this system. The dealers do not order the cars as in a normal purchase, the dealer will take delivery of the car only if we say that is where we (the buyer) want to purchase it. The dealer car orders will happen in the second wave of purchases.

I feel sorry for Volt buyers. I've contacted my Chevy dealer and they will definitely be charging over MSRP for the initial Volts. I have been on a wait list for the Volt since the beginning, but I am not going to pay over MSRP. If I still purchase one, it will have to be when the dealer cant get them off the lot and is willing to sell for MSRP or below.
