Comment: Well, all the dealers on the island (O'ahu) are quoting MSRP plus destination. I investigated getting it from a California Dealer and could have saved some money even after the shipping costs were figured in ($1,075) but it was not clear how this would affect delivery and it would have been additional hassle getting it registered. Since the legislature has only put aside $1,000,000 for the rebate I wanted to make sure I was one of the first 200 cars and so didn't want to do anything that could have delayed delivery so I accepted the MSRP. To save a few hundred and risk losing out on the $4,500 rebate from the state did not seem like a good choice. Note that King Windward had initially said they would be charging more than MSRP but they backed down (it is not at all uncommon for dealers here in Hawaii to charge more than MSRP) so this is better than it could be.
