On Saturday, 8/6/2011 I took in an orphan Glacial Pearl in Phoenix, AZ! I was very lucky. By the time I tried to get on the original wait list, it was closed. I went from a very fun 2007 yellow Honda S2000 to this white Leaf - just a little different ;) - but tastes and needs change and I couldn't be happier.

Congratulations Shrink! Which dealer had the orphan? I was told that Tempe had some and they would sell/lease them at MSRP.
It was worth it to wait 14 months for me to get a mo. payment less than $400 (including taxes).

ABC Nissan off Camelback. Jim Springer is their Leaf specialist. He's great and very enthusiastic about the car. In fact, I drove his Leaf before I end up buying mine. Good to know he drives the car he's selling.

Your payment is better than mine! Congrats!

Just picked up my Black SL from Nissan Sunnyvale. Dennis Coburn did a nice job for me. He answered a million questions and never rushed me.

I want to thank everyone at MyNissanLeaf for helping me. Great community.

Did you like the ev1? What was the range on freeway?

Ahh. I picked up my blue leaf (orphan) at Mossy in San Diego... But I live in Santa Monica, 129 miles away. Made good...kilowattage from SD to Irvine, and decided to stop for a couple of hours at OC Nissan there. Alas, their charging station access is blocked off. Wish me luck as I try to make it home :)

Aaand, I'm home. Thanks to a few hours' charge at a dealer, I am a steak sandwich and a midnight taco heavier and the Leaf and I are safely in Santa Monica, with 18mi to spare. Yay long distance Leaf driving -- what a way to cure range anxiety :D

Nice work haykinson!

Which dealership did you wind up at?

I don't want to get people working there in trouble...

However my experience so far with Nissan dealer charging stations after hours isn't too peachy. At the dealer mentioned above I had to hop the curb to get to the station. At Santa Monica Nissan this morning the manager was very curt with me about the fact that I left the car charging overnight. He said that if people keep parking there without letting him know (asking permission) beforehand, he'll start shutting it off at night...

Picked up the only Red Leaf in the area (and one of only eight) on Thursday. No more allotment for the dealership. It has been interesting to experience what everyone else has been describing. It will certainly take a while to understand all of this stuff. I can already see this will make me drive more. I've been using it as an excuse to run every little errand I can think of. Charged on 120 VAC for a couple of hours Sunday night just to make sure it worked. Still have 60 miles on the guess-o'-meter. Drove 4 mi to work since I need to pick up some bicycle repair parts about 15 mi from work. Normally, I would do this on my bicycle on the weekend. See, it's already changing behavior!

Reddy......and driving my new Leaf
Delivered 8/18
80 miles on the Odometer

Congratulations on your new leaf... The newness has not worn off for me yet. I picked up mine earlier this month. First thing I did is set the charge timer to 80%. sounds like you live close to work and 80% will work fine for you as well.

I wonder how the heater will affect your range in Washington. I won't ever use my heater, so it id of no concern to me...

Congrats again.

I'm scheduled to pick mine up tomorrow. Has anyone had the dealer do a battery evaluation at delivery just to see what you're starting with battery wise? How long does the battery evaluation take, 30 min, 1 hr,??

I just picked up my 'Ocean Blue' Nissan Leaf at Coast Nissan in San Luis Obispo today. My AV EVSE is getting installed Monday (by a local contractor). Woohoo! 74 Mile R/T commute, here I come (on Monday). :)

Just picked up my White leaf from Coulter Nissan in Glendale - great experience, both buying the car and driving it back home to Chandler. Don't have the Blink installed yet, so we'll have to live a couple of weeks with just the L1 charger. So much to learn - what a great little car!
