Yes, it does pull more if it is active, but it still seems unlikely it alone could run down a good battery that quickly...

Before I modified to switched power, I accidentally left the App running with screen 'always on', and it drained my 12V down to 8V overnight. It's an easy mod if u buy the 'stubby'.

Yes, I will retest as soon as I can get near that car again.

I will also be delivering a ELM-dongle and Kyocera Android device
to the owner, all configured, installed, and tested.
So,in the future, they could take new readings for us.

I started extracting DTC (codes) from teaching 2011 manual, with the
descriptions, fail-safe functions, page-references, etc.

I can put it into any format that you want.
So far it is a text file, but a csv type file might be better?

I will email the text file, and a start at a possible csv file.

Is the email address on the App's About screen the best
to use to get things to you, like the App logs?

Cheers, Gary

With v26n6 I get the following

C1A62 0108 BRAKE
C1A6E 0108 BRAKE
C1A70 0108 BRAKE
C118C 0108 ABS
B2196 0008 BCM Dongle NG SEC-48
B2612 0008 BCM
B26EF 0008 BCM
B26F2 0008 BCM IGN Relay On Stuck PCS-54
B29C1 2368 CHARGER EVSE VC-88
B2820 0028 CHARGER Quick Charger VC-65

Is there a list of codes somewhere so I can look these up?
I am wondering if the Japanese made car for the UK market might have the TPMS electronics installed but no TPMS sensors on the wheels..

I have:
C1A70 0108 BRAKE
C1155 0008 ABS
B29C1 2368 CHARGER EVSE VC-65
P1895 0008 SHIFT

I took these codes after a deer-strike event (a fawn  ), so I'm assuming the BRAKE and ABS codes are because I applied max braking... BTW - Not a scratch or dent to the car, the poor thing rolled up the hood and off the car over the passenger mirror. Anyone know if those deer whistles work?

The CHARGER code is worrisome, since I have no idea what it means...

The SHIFT code sounds like I triggered the Nissan marketing ECU

I have a newer version I will be posting shortly that includes more descriptions for DTCs. Since the DTCs are saved on exit (be sure to exit app before loading a new one) when you load this new version you will get the additional text.

I would check your Brake fluid. C1155 means it is low or the sensor is open. However, since the digit just before "BRAKE" is "8" and not "9" this problem is not currently active so something in the past.

After charging cut off on me at around 50% charge on L2 at 6.3KW I ran the tests.
B27FF 0009 HVAC
U1300 0108 MULTI AV
U1240 0208 MULTI AV
U1000 0108 MULTI AV

At this time the EV System Warning Light was on. I expected to see more info here.

I'm sending the logs to Turbo3

It appears the HVAC DTC is the problem. The "9" before HVAC means it is currently active. Here is the detection condition from the service manual: "When A/C auto amp. configuration (control unit setting) is not performed" and the possible cause is "A/C auto amp (Not performed configuration)". It appears you need a CONSULT to do the configuration.

Can you read the DTCs again. If the warning light is still on there should still be a "9" if the light auto turned off then I expect there to be an "8".

After looking at the ELM trace Kevin sent me it is clear there is a bug in reading DTCs from 2013 Leafs. That model year Nissan switched from electronic (with an ECU) to a mechanical parking brake.

When the app tries to read the DTCs from the parking brake ECU for 2013 it gets no response (since there is no parking brake ECU) so hangs in endless retries. This means it does not read any more ECUs such as the Charger, EV/HEV or HV Battery ECUs.

I will update the app to only read DTCs from the parking brake ECU for model year 2011/21 Leafs.

Thought I should link this suggestion I had for a histogram of health and capacity here. It'd sure be useful. :)

http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=13247&p=319483#p319483" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

(Pack voltage would also be useful, more on a 5-minute to 1-hour scale though)

This talk of DTCs makes me wonder if this app is becoming a bit too powerful already though

Version 0.26n7 is up for testing.

Features/Fixes
* Only read DTCs from Electronic Brake unit for models 2011/12
* Additional text descriptions for DTCs

-----------------------
Minor refresh to add "*" as first character in front of DTC code if the DTC is still active.

Does this Leaf have the Electronic Parking Brake (lever on center console) or the mechnical Parking Brake down by your feet? What are the first 10 characters of your VIN or post a screenshot of screen 1 (Cell Voltages) which displayes the VIN.

With 2011 LEAF and 26n5 DTCs are:

B2820 0028 CHARGER...
P100B 5703 EV/HEV
P31C2 C0D0 EV...
P2100 C031 EV...
B38C0 0000 EV...

WITH 26n6 and 26n7 only the B2820 line shows,
none of the EV/HEV entries show.

So, it appears that the "alternate" method of reading
from the EV/HEV does not work?

Cherrs, Gary

Turbo3,
I extracted a couple hundred DTCs and descriptions from the
Service Manual, and put about the first 8 into a CSV file, with a header line.

I emailed both to you so that you could better suggest what you want,
or what might be useful to you.
