I looked at the source last night and was trying to hack it since the javascript for the LEAF isn't allowing you to select a year, but I didn't get anywhere.
(I've said this before, but clearly I need to stop hitting refresh on this forum)
Why hack the javascript when you can just look at the format? Glancing at a couple of the other cars, it looks like the owners manual will end up at http://www.nissanusa.com/content/dam/nissan/pdf/techpubs/leaf/2011/2011-Nissan-Leaf.pdf. Please note - that link does not work - no one get excited :)

I wasn't looking for the manual, I was looking for the leaf "landing" page. I didn't hack the javascript, I looked at the source. But it uses javascript to fill the car selection pulldowns.

Hard to guess if they will lowercase the name like the other cars, or stick to the LEAF name used elsewhere. Also, we have the new twist of the TM character to contend with.

I tried a number of combinations (upper case, capitalized, lowercase, with/without TM) without success.

Tried my hand at tweaking the source. The javascript uses the text of the first dropdown to search an array which populates the second dropdown. The ™ part of the text screws everything up. (BAD code monkey! BAD!) Even bypassing that, the resulting page(s) don't work yet.

That problem may or may not mess up the works throughout the whole site.

One thing worth noting is that the PDF server (possibly IBM Unix or Linux) is case sensitive. You must have the case correct to locate any of the existing PDF files, so I assume the same is true of the Leaf, leaf, or LEAF manuals.

Yeah, I didn't look at the NISMO Z, which gives a better idea of what the link should be - looks like the owner's manual (in theory) would end up at http://www.nissanusa.com/content/dam/nissan/pdf/techpubs/leaf/2011/2011-Nissan-LEAF.pdf - but again, this is a theoretical link, and really what I should do is relax and just wait for the docs to show up naturally :)

I have them all. Don't know how to post them though. Volunteers??

Do you have the actual (huge) Owner's Manual, or just the Quick Start Guide?
It's not 'thick' at all. It's a mere 39 pages long. Not like a ICE cars' manuals. It's extremely low maintenance is why. They're all very simple in their information format...not very technical at all to me.

Eh. Most of my car's manual isn't about service, it's explaining in agonizing detail every function of every device in the vehicle. If what you have looks like any of these then we've all seen it.

For example, does the book tell you anything about a battery disconnect switch? Does it explain the menus in the console display and how to operate the GPS features? Does it explain even mundane things like when and how to use the parking brake (which I'd imagine would be always but...)? 39 pages seems awfully small for a full and proper owner's manual.

If that's really the really real owner's manual, then you would have people tripping over themselves to help you leak it. If it's an electronic copy email it to someone (like evnow). If it's a physical book, take pics. Lots of pics. One of each page, actually. Post 'em or email them to someone.

You have the "Service and Maintenance Guide". Yes, it's low maint. No, you don't have the Owner's Manual.

Was surfing through the Japenese Leaf site last night...no manual but did find a full spec sheet.

http://ev.nissan.co.jp/LEAF/PDF/leaf_specification.pdf

Anyone want to translate?

interesting looking at that spec sheet--if those numbers are mm, they don't really
match the sizes we've been reading about. ie. for length height wheelbase etc.
(edit)
Actually the sizes do match--I was looking at a different spec sheet

Probably translates to this:
http://www.nissannews.com/assets/attachments/NISSAN_LEAF_SpecSheet_FINAL_US_2.pdf

but the Japenese drawing specifications are easy to read.

Somewhere in this forum posts I read that the owner's manual will be available starting today DEC 16 th. The Manual & Guides at Nissan USA still don't allow to see or download the pdf version of the LEAF as we can do in all the other nissan cars.

Come on NISSAN... give us the chance of be able to push the pdf version of the ownder's manual of the LEAF while we keep waiting for our delivery car time, please....

By any chance is anyone able to get the owner's manual please could you be so kind to share with all of us...thanks.
