I finally got around to putting my 120v EVSE back in the bag and in the trunk yesterday now that my larger EVSE is up and running, and I saw some instructions in there that I hadn't noticed before...So I thought I'd scan them for the group....Some interesting stuff for those who haven't seen it yet...

Page 1 top:

Use only a Nissan genuine EVSE.

Consumer protection laws in the US protect us from requirements like this from OEM warranties. In Japan and Europe this CAN be required, but in the US this absolutely CANNOT be required.

This is a Mag-Moss violation. There is no technical reason or legal standing in the US for this requirement.

I really should drag my L1 out of the case and make sure it works. Hate to do that and mess up the packaging though.

I interpret this in relation to the instructions provided. The instructions only refer to a "Nissan genuine EVSE."

The funny thing is that it is made by Panasonic and not Nissan. So how genuine can it be?
