"Capacity retention is almost constant below 50% SOC, but decreases with the SOC in the range of 50% to 80%. Batteries should be stored at the optimum storage state of charge which is between 30% and 40%."

Yes. Correct.

Leaf's BMS discharges HV battery down to those levels with trickle charging 12V battery and
in case battery heater operates. And then it doesn't activate those functions any more. To keep around 30%.
This might result in frozen battery or dead 12V. But that hardly matters.

Also it appears Audi's e-tron has maximum SOC no more than 90% of "actual" maximum.
This can be estimated because e-tron rapidly charges when vehicle screens show more than 95% state.
Short range EVs <30kWh -- Medium range: 30-60kWh -- Long range: >60kWh
Charging: Trickle <3kW -- Normal 3-22kW -- Fast 50-100kW -- Supercharging >100kW
