It's also interesting how he calls the separate company (BigBattery) who they are buying the batteries from "our warehouse of CPO Batteries on the West Coast". This implies something that isn't close to being true.

The requirement for LEAFs to be near the warehouse to be eligible for pack replacement is a tacit acknowledgement that battery shipping costs are prohibitive outside of a location near the BigBattery warehouse. Fenix can find ("certify") installers wherever, but getting the pack to them (and returning the old pack) is not resolved.

This has been my suspicion all along: the logistics costs are a nightmare, and they are going to kill Fenix if the refurbs do not last as long as they hope for.

Perhaps the better approach to the logistics is to find for rent by the day garage facilities near the large car auction sites and make the technician mobile. The customer can either drive or tow their LEAF to the garage.

Has any Fenix Power customers received notification of their CPO Battery installation? My Fenix Power Account still says "on Hold". It used to say "Processing". I called Big Battery in California, and they were not aware of any recent Fenix Power orders for CPO Nissan LEAF batteries. I also called my local vehicle repair shop, which does Prius Battery Replacement and they have not received any contact with Fenix Power, even though I recommended them for the CPO LEAF Battery Installation.

Well again, it is not helping us to make comments like above. An announcement on the first 10 battery replacements will be coming this week and batteries are on the way to installer locations across the country. It has taken a while to make this happen, but we are close. The company has been personally calling many who have been vocal on this issue, but clearly it is not enough. So I ask only to watch for two things to happen. 1. We are shipping batteries to installers and 2. Leaf's will be installed with CPO batteries within the next two weeks. This begins the cycle of shipping and installing you all have been waiting for and by the end of the year an announcement on the delivery of the Fenix Power Modular Battery Architecture for EV's will also be delivered. We have been working on CPO logistics for multiple national installer locations and planning for the Fenix Power New Technology during the last 30 days. I didn't know the origins off the top of my head, but that makes sense. The expression comes up when trading stocks, as well. The context there is to have some cash ready on the side in order to make some buys when the opportunity comes.

Musket gunpowder does not work if wet so soldiers were well advised to keep their powder dry. It is not different in intent than telling a tradesman to keep their tools clean and in working order but the nature of soldiers and life or death battles added some urgency to the advice.

Money people love sloppy analogies from conflict and physics although the metaphors trip over each other if someone says "keep your powder dry and liquid."
