FYI I have a "build thread" of sorts going over at DIYelectric that has more play by play details.

Will keep posting highlights here from time to time as well.

I'll probably post this in a new thread as well, but here is a video I shot last night showing the status of my teardown and the location of the major components:

Motor is finally out! Still a fair amount of work to do getting the rest of the wiring harness and AC system out, but making progress.

Thx Dude, coming along pretty well. Solved my charging issue (wiring mistake), now its all back on the shelf and I'm starting to tear down the Sonett. More regular updates in the threads linked in my sig.

I'm actually making an inverter for a guy that is taking a Nissan Leaf motor and putting it into a dune buggy sort of thing. He's also using a Chevy volt battery pack. I just ordered a Nissan Leaf motor for testing. You can build the controller yourself. All the code is open, and you can change whatever you want. It's tested and works. It's super simple. No weird codes. Just turn it on, and drive away. It uses field oriented control. So give it 50% of full throttle, and you will get 50% of the max motor current (torque control, rather than speed control). Here are the directions:
instructables.com/id/200kW-AC-Motor-Controller-for-Electric-Car/

Up to this point I've only done it with an encoder, but recently finished a little board that converts the resolver signal to an encoder signal. Those boards will be here in a couple days, and the motor will be here next week I hope.

EDIT: oops, I just saw that you got the drive system working. Never mind!
