Nissan dealers in the US are not owned by Nissan. From what I understand, there are franchise laws laws that prohibit automakers from owning dealers. Tesla's been getting into hot water over their stores. Gah! This is what happens when local dealers have too much freedom from corporate headquarters. Tesla has been doing this right.
