Both the Blink map and the PlugShare map show 2 chargers at Prudential (16260 N. 71st Ave, Scottsdale). I drove by this weekend to check it out since this is sorta close to where I work. It looks like the lot is secure...employees only.

Does anyone know the deal? If these are just for Prudential associates, I totally understand, but then they shouldn't be appearing on the map....

Been there done that........ Prudential Financials Blinks most definitely are not for public consumption. Just ask the many security guards they have onsite.
I have notified BLINK about displaying the EVSE and not indicating it's a private facility to no avail. Prudential Financial has not returned VM or emails related to whether they are available for the public.

They have a Director of Sustainability headquartered out of the New Jersey office. He's in charge of all Prudential buildings and internal programs related to sustainability. They have a huge solar array and many internal programs designed to reduce the corporate carbon footprint. They take advantage of any public platform promoting their image but for the most part its an internal cost control measure and nothing to do with supporting the community or EV infrastructure. IMO

Solar City called to turn on my system. Figured the day and time they wanted to do it was the one hour this whole week that I have a prior commitment.

I've actually used those at Prudential and I'm actually the one who posted the photo and check in on the Recargo app. I charged successfully on a Sunday afternoon. No one was in the guard shack, although I can imagine they might give you a hard time if they are there. Funny, I sent Blink an email about these and they told me that were originally suppressed from the Blink app as being designated for private use, but they since put them back on the Blink app as indeed being designated for public use.

So, Carlos, it looks like we asked Blink the exact opposite thing regarding these Prudential chargers in independent inquiries. How funny.

I imagine after hours if you go there to charge, no one will stop you and you can access them freely, but I've never been there during business hours. If the guards turn you away either tell them the next time you are a visitor and have meeting, or just head a mile East to Pinnacle Nissan. I've charged there before. The first time the flock of dealers were jokingly saying I should pay them $10. The next time a dealer asked me how I liked the LEAF and said he was about to spend $120 to gas up his truck.

A couple days ago I saw my first "in the wild" leaf. I can't believe it took this long. Sure I've seen you guys at the meets but that doesn't count.

I've seen two since getting mine. Both on Shea and 92nd Street in Scottsdale. One was Red, like mine. The other was black. While visiting in Seattle, I saw two within the first hour I was there.

Getting back to those Prudential Blink's for a second, looks like a Tesla driver successfully used them twice in the past week after normal business hours as well:

My company is in the process of getting public charging to go with solar paneled covered parking, similar to the Prudential set-up. If government funds are utilized for any portion of that installation then they must be available to the public 24/7, if not in use by the employees that work there. The only way those would be off limits is if Prudential paid for 100% of the Blink chargers and their installation. I have used those Prudential chargers a couple times on the weekends, used my Zappy scooter to go the shops/restaurants south of there. If I am going Northeast then I will park at Pinnacle; I do that at least once a month lately. One thing about Pinnacle is I had to remind Walter (the LEAF salesman) that they do not need to be parking their in-stock LEAFs in those front spots as they have been lately. It was told to me by Nissan corporate, and verified by Walter at Pinnacle, that it is part of the dealership agreement to sell the LEAF that there must be charging spots available for anyone who own's a car to stop and charge, regardless of where they purchased the car. That is why they are included in the Carwings database.

Does anyone know how to read these smart meter's display? The APS inspector said the instructions are on line but all I found were instructions for two other smart meters. Mine is a Itron Centron C1ST. Basically it loops through 8 different screens (numbered 1-8) but other than the first two which are time and date, the rest are various readings. But no idea what is what. Can't find instructions a anywhere.

The ECOtality building in Phoenix has 6 new chargers. Two of them are CHadeMo. The address is 435 S. 3rd Ave. The gate is on Buchanan St. There are signs saying Charge Station hours of operation 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday-Friday and "Gate Closes at 5:00 PM". I haven't talked to them so I don't know more than that.

I wonder if they got tax dollars and are in the EV Project if so they should remove the charger or make them public.

If it's like SRP's (Elster REX2), there are just three others to read on the main meter besides the time and date ones. The last readout is the total kW hs used and the 'TA' is the 'on peak' usage if you're on a TOU plan. 'TC' is the off peak usage. Then there is an 'R' reading that tells you that your Smart meter is connected to the Smart grid and communicating with your utility properly. If you have a different meter, I found this for APS: http://www.aps.com/main/green/choice/choice_11.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is what I have:

Screen - value
1 - date
2 - Time
3 - 1449 kWh T
4 - 534 kWh A
5 - 6.6 kW A
6 - 5 kWh T
7 - 5 kWh A
8 - 2.3 kW A

I'm going to start tracking it to see if I can make heads or tails out of it..gonna call APS as well. I know 6 and 7 haven't changed since yesterday. The APS inspector said something about peak demand.

Ahah!
http://www.aps.com/main/green/choice/choice_11.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So..

3 - 1449 kWh T Total kWh
4 - 534 kWh A On-Peak kWh
5 - 6.6 kW A On-Peak Demand
6 - 5 kWh T Total kWh Produced
7 - 5 kWh A On-Peak kWh Produced
8 - 2.3 kW A On Peak Demand Produced.

Apparently you can't get smartmeter data on APS.com with the bidirectional meter! Bummer! Guess it's not so smart after all.

Might have to make me a IR adapter.

Still waiting for Solar City to turn on my account.

I took a short trip (15mi.) to the QCs this morning on 3rd Ave. and the tech said that they are waiting on UL approval which should be in a week or so. He said they would put it on the Blink website when they are ready for public use.
Btw, when I arrived, I was at 7.1m/kW h on the dash and 7.2 on the NAV. Driving 150 actual miles on one charge is going to be much easier than I had thought. A steady 35mph should do it. I may put the CC on 24mph for some of it (late at night/no traffic).

Leaffan it is approved today. I was there on Friday as I was downtown so I stopped by and plugged in to get it in my NAV system.

Who's got a red leaf with "CHRG4ME" plate?

It was a third party sighting from the driver that drives our demo F450 hybrid down union hills into Scottsdale.

I was at harbor fright this weekend and there was a Silver Leaf I spook to the guy and told him about this web site. I also so said we had a Phoenix Leaf group and would get together soon as the temp's cool.

Does it mean that the CHAdeMO station there is now up and running?

I think Gonewild means the other two L2 charging stations. Two of the 4 L2s aren't operating yet according to the Blink Network. The UL approval for those QCs didn't happen until today so they were off limits to the public. They should be operational Wed. I should think. I may drive up there and check. I asked the tech that was working on the QCs if the charging will be free, and he didn't know.

There was a blue Leaf and Tesla at the RMFMA show yesterday at Fort McDowell casino, apparently owned by the same person. Anyone here?
