2 of those links are the same; am I missing something? One is the Quick Reference Guide and the other is the Service and Maintainence Guide. None of them explain a warranty.

Are there three documents or just two? The first two links you have go to the same document.

I'm guessing that he meant to also post this link :

GRADUAL CAPACITY LOSS
The Lithium-ion battery (EV battery), like all lithium-ion batteries, will experience gradual capacity loss with time and use. Loss of battery capacity due to or resulting from gradual capacity loss is NOT covered under this warranty. See your OWNER’S MANUAL for important tips on how to maximize the life and capacity of the “Lithium-ion battery.”

damn, and I really wanted to buy ... but given this, and a probable january delivery, I'm guessing that a lease is not such a bad idea after all ...

I doubt I have read every single post on here, but I've learned a bunch of things I didn't know before:

  • Remote functions, at least in the overview, say nothing about the car needing to be plugged in - just that carwings and smartphone are needed
  • I didn't realize that "turtle" mode actually displayed a turtle. That rocks.
  • Hill start is available. Not a big thing for me, but I've seen it asked about before and don't remember seeing an answer.
  • Parking brake will automatically disengage if you have your seatbelt on and you accellerate or reverse. Maybe this will get my girlfriend in the habit of putting on her seatbelt before she starts driving.
  • Emergency shut off: Whether you're in the "hold it down to turn off" camp, or the "panic and press the button many times camp", either one will do an emergency system shut off.
  • Cruise control turns off if you accelerate (I'm not used to this, I'll have to adjust)

Thank you both for this!

That makes no sense. All it is saying is that if you end up with 80% range they're not going to replace you battery. But if your range drops to 20% in 3 years then that is NO gradual and it would be covered under warranty.

I think people are getting all worked up about nothing.
