2nd winter with my SLR PWRD 2012 Leaf. Last winter I noticed a clunking noise in the left-front suspension when driving in cold weather. Took it to the dealership twice, but other than greasing some stuff they were not much help. This winter the noise seems to be coming from both sides. How...
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: If you are over 50 you owe it to yourself to get your insurance checked thru AARP/The Hartford. I moved my policies over (home & auto) and achieved just short of a 50% reduction in cost. Give them a look.
Pardon the practical question, but when the inverter is wired in between the 12v battery and the inverter ground, does the Leaf have to be turned on to make the juice flow?
That's all well and good if you believe that the status quo is good to go for decades to come, but seriously: When oil gets REALLY tight (which IS going to happen, it is a finite resource) all the rest of you are going to be really happy that a bunch of us - with government assistance - went...
It's a little spendy, to be sure, but if you are willing to lease the rates are really low right now. I've seen $199/mo; some leaseholders report saving that much money in gas *alone* on a monthly basis.
I still have a petrol car, a Kia minivan. Unless I am hauling something large (or...
If you are over 50, I strongly suggest you join AARP and check out their insurance program through The Hartford. Saved me 50% when I bundled two cars and my house. Astounding savings.
Really? You think that's expensive? I know Washington State is green-electricity heaven, but c'mon. Even with your green-power addon, you are below average for the US. I am on TOU here in Madison WI. Including the 3 cent Green Power Tomorrow addon, I pay 7 cents off-peak (9P - 10A during...
Owner; L2 charge, both at home and opportunity charging throughout the metro area; Cold climate, although I haven't yet driven the Leaf thru a winter (but we had a record number of 100+ and 90+ days this summer); 16 mile RT commuter, with lots of kid-toting after work; 3300 all-solar-powered...
This is interesting...

...here in Wisconsin. They have installed three (!) Blink chargers at a mall on the west side of town. I got a Blink card from Kohl's and activated it, but want to hang it on a lanyard with my other charger IDs. Can I safely punch a hole thru the Blink card to attach it?
Thanks in advance -
Dumb question: If the S really HTF, where would you want to be driving to 20 miles roundtrip a day? It would seem that any trips you make would be one-way affairs (e.g., to get as far away from the S as possible.) Personally, I think the Leaf would make a dandy UPS to keep the refrigerator...
To me, it's a Versa with a big a$$. But I love it.
I really like the idea that I am doing something revolutionary and can stay relatively anonymous at the same time.
