It detected it was a 2018, but with the wrong battery. Maybe the problem is because mine was an european 2018 Nissan Leaf?

Leaf Spy and Leaf Spy Pro

I tried LSP in a 2018 Leaf that a dealer gave me to test for 2 days and it proved very usefull. But I think there is a bug because it always assumed I had a 60kW.h , and I had to change it manually to a 40kW.h otherwise it couldn’t get data for the battery.

    The Battery Replacement Thread

Congratulations on your new battery! I assume the new battery is about 50kg lighter than the previous one, do you notice any improvement in performance?

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Just lost my 11th bar. 51.7Ah, 87000km (54375 miles) and 3 years and 5 months since delivery. No replacement battery for me...

Range of two LEAFs very different in same 30 mile route

Cell pair 4 is clearly unbalanced. It is red because the shunt order is wrong (it should be 8421). It is possible that with (long) time the other cells could discharge and reach the same level of CP4, but I think it is very strange to have this sort of unbalance. Probably CP4 is damaged with a...

    Has anyone had cells replaced?

Here in Portugal there was a car with two cells replaced. I actually tested the car before the replacement and at 80% SOC those cells were allready at 4,08V, and from 80% to a 100% charge it took only 0,5kW.h from the wall. Total capacity was reduced to 10kW.h from 0% to 100%, and only them he...

2014 LEAF gets "Poor" rating in Small Overlap IIHS test

How is it possible thar the dummies had their faces broken if the protection for head, neck and chest is Good (check the table before your post), and the head has no contact with the dash? FUD?

Leaf Spy and Leaf Spy Pro

I use the HV battery amps to check how fast is DC fast charge progressing, so when it slows down I usually disconnect. Also, here in Portugal some DCFC are slower than 125A (I found one that was only 40A...) and this is the only way to know. Those engineering parameters (Amps, temperatures...

Leaf Spy and Leaf Spy Pro

I just bought Leaf Spy Pro and don't know how to enable battery AMPs as in Leaf battery. In Leaf Battery to see the BAT Amps I had to select Alt Gids in the configuration but that option is not available anymore. Is there anyway to see BAT Amps and not the motor rpm?

    The Battery Replacement Thread

Since the ESR continues to be around 100mR, I think there is no limit in Power delivery until or very near Turtle. The margin is much lower in charge (4,1V/cell max voltage), so regen and quick charge are affected for small changes in ESR.

    Possible battery or heater issue

Thanks for the update. They really need to test the car in the same conditions (very low temperature).

    Possible battery or heater issue

It could be a bad cell that sags too much in low temperatures but behaves more normally in normal temperatures. Turning the heater on draws an extra 6kW from the pack wich can be the tipping point for the LBC to assume that the cell is past the voltage knee and so it will be empty soon. This...

    Low temperature front end noise?

I have the same noise coming from the left front suspension when passing over bumps. The noise only appears in cold weather. Will probably go to the dealer in a cold morning in the coming days.

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

I think the problem with the double charge count happens when there is a charge timer and at the time of pluging in it does not start to charge immediatly. Then it counts the pluging in (where a charge test is performed for some seconds) and the actual charge when the programmed time arrives, so...

How much do you pay for electricity?

    0.20€/kW.h standard rate, 0.10€/kW.h 0-7 AM.

    16,500 miles

I think there are no issues regarding the drivetrain, even for very high mileage Leafs (> 70,000 miles).

10% capacity loss within month !

It is possible that this lower capacity reading is because of the lower temperatures your car is experiencing now. The pre P3227 behaviour was an increase in reported capacity in lower temperatures, but we know this is not possible. It is possible that P3227 corrected this behaviour and now the...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Lost my first capacity bar today at 57010km (35631 miles). For about a week I'm between 55.20 and 55.25 Ah, so I knew it was imminent. I have P3227 since July. The temperature is way lower than last week (5 TB) so I guess this winter there won't be an uptick incapacity.
