Don't they know they will sell nowhere near as many FCs as they did EV RAVs? Are they that stupid as to having to resort to buying credits on open market starting in 2015?

They must have a plan B.

One thing to remember, the OP is "RENTING" at the new place, so that may change before his range starts decreasing. Also, he is able to charge at work, and 120v WILL work for him, but even if he needs more charge, there is LOTS of charging infrastructure in the south Bay area.

Therefore a LEAF will work nicely for the OP as the situation now stands. He will only use about $1.00 of the employers electricity each day so no need to spend Thousands of dollars for any charging station installation, just plug it in during the work day. If the employer does not want him to get his electricity free, then he can just work one or two minutes free overtime to pay for the charging.

Nissan is committed to the EV, Toyota is not. The Leaf was designed as an EV, the Rav4EV is just a compliance vehicle because California forced Toyota to do something. JMHO.
