is it more like $45 escrow fee?

This is on top of the surprise about having to spec SL and pay $700 more for L3 charging. Leaf is not quite the bargain I had once thought.

Every one of your points is valid. However, remember that a lot of us here are not buying the Leaf because it makes financial sense. A lot of us here realize it will actually COST us a few bucks compared to what we already have and drive. Personally, the Leaf will be a big leap of faith and cost about $200 over what I'm paying now. But that money is worth it if I can help change public opinion about EVs.
I have a good job and the $$ factor is workable. I'll take my chances with what I ordered, and when I go pick it up, if I don't like it, I'll walk. Not everyone feels the same way or can make the numbers work financially. To each his/her own.
Leafittome said:Has anybody worked an order deal including a trade-in value? Or are the dealers waiting due to Leaf delivery date not being known? Can a trade value be used as a down payment on a lease or just a finance contract? I would assume a trade could be used to lower lease payments.
Also, for those who have ordered in California, did you then apply for the state rebate? This is outside of any deal with the dealer?
Thank you.

I am doing it because; despite the fact that we were warned more than 3 decades ago by a president who was ridiculed for his beliefs and actions and run out of office, my continuing to support big oil has undermined and literally destroyed our economy.
We are currently forced To spend several 100,000,000,000 dollars In a foreign country Fighting an enemy Whose sole support for the weapons they use we have financed with oil.
My Priuses do a very good job of reducing the sick feeling i get when i fill up the tank, my Zenn does an even better job. BUT the Leaf will make my primary source of transportation. "Foreign-oil" free and THAT IS THE REASON WHY EVERY AMERICAN SHOULD BUY ONE
