I have searched and searched, even found a post entitled "What is a GID?" http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7828" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; but it doesn't actually say what a GID is.. Can somebody please explain to me exactly what it is, and why it is important.

Thanks!

Short answer: 80 watt-hours. Long answer well.... pack a lunch.

It's his name.. no wonder i couldn't find a technical name for it.. Thank you.

That sort of makes since. So if "1 Gid = 80Wh nominally, 100% Charge = 281 Gids on a new battery in a cold climate." Then the battery holds 22,480Wh? (80 * 281) Or am i just making a mess of this?

91040 gets credit for first coining the term here.

So 91040 suggested we use the term "gids" and Stoaty was the first person to use the term in a statement ... interesting.

"I will have to get one of these meters so I can see how many gids I am getting on an 80% charge."

As a total nube on that issue, without a gid meter...

You are correct. 22,480 Wh is about 22.5 KWh, which is about the usable amount of charge of our 24KWh batteries.

Can we just merge this thread w/the others on this like http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15752&p=351975#p351975" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?
