I would pay for a thermally managed 40 kWh LFP pack if I could get one installed for $6k USD or less...
Assuming a $1000 USD installation cost (4 hrs labor, CANBUS bridge, hardware), that leaves $5000 USD for the pack itself, or $125 USD per kWh.
I think there's a chance that could happen, but I would say the odds are not good within the next 3 years. By then, I will likely own a 2018 LEAF and my 2013 will be owned by someone else.
