I had ordered my 2011 LEAF with no floor mats to save that money. I bought some generic aftermarket ones instead.

Random data point. I have a LEAF delivered in Apr 2011 w 30K miles, still on the stock lead/acid battery - no 12V problems (so far.)

I think it has more to do about the motor toque & horsepower "curves". LEAF power stops rising much above 40MPH so freeway acceleration is somewhat uninspiring. RAV4EV with Tesla Model S motor make a lot more horsepower at high RPMs and so accelerates better on the freeway. I think the idea...

I am getting 9 bars at 80% sometimes now. About 29K miles and 3.5 years since I got the LEAF. Still have all 12 bars on the 100% reading.

Dislike grabby brakes at low speeds. But they are good brakes. They stop the car well. Dislike the look of the bulbous headlights from some angles. Disliked the sound quality of XM radio. Never renewed the trial subscription. Generally love the car. Smooth, quiet, easy to drive, etc...

Another bad thing about always going to 100% is lack of regen. I like using 80% so I don't have to wait for the battery to run down enough to have room to accept regen charge. The friction brakes will probably wear more because of this change. It would hurt efficiency if you do stop & go...
