The Leaf will have Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System and Vehicle Security System. We are the only dealer in the Metro Phoenix area that will not apply any other charges such as delivery fee, prep fees, adding tint. theft etch or other add-on's. If the customer wants the add-on such as tint we will do it but only when the customer makes that decision. I am not sure actually sure what other items the other dealers will be adding on but it is a normal practice for them. I hope this helps.

Do you have good list of features to post here ?

Also, do you have internal dimensions - Perry told journalists who asked him about this, that it is available online - haven't found it though. I'm particularly interested in how high the drivers seat is (say compared to Maxima).

Thanks dclark, I posted before I was going to Power Nissan in Tempe but changed it to Power in Chandler because of there BBB rating. I will call the dealer and ask if there dealership has Dealer prep and delivery charges. Why do you not charge for the delivery is that not charged to you by the Manufacturer? If they do charge I will select your dealership I work in Deer valley on 19th ave and DV. Where is you dealership located in Avondale how far is that from DV? thanks

Looks like your going to make a KILLING not charging for dealer prep and delivery.
Wow! How much does that save ? And can you lease (not purchase) to out-of-state (CA) residents ?

We don't charge items such as delivery fees and/or prep fees.
Our philosophy is not to overcharge the customer. Yes, maybe we are losing a bit more than some other dealers but we want a customer for life and they will communicate our philosophy to their friends and families. We have only done our research in the past in our market area and I am not sure about if the California dealers are charging these types of fees. We do have a doc fee of $379 and we are the lowest in Arizona. I am not sure about California dealers charge the doc fees.

Any customer may go online with their reservation logins and change the dealer of their choice. It is not too late to change it now and you will not loose your placement. Once you have an email from Nissan about getting the quote from the dealer, than we have been told it is too late.
I hope I answered your questions.

Another question I was asked about what are the dimensions inside the car. I have emailed our factory rep to see if he can give me that information. The features on the Leaf can be found on Nissan Leaf page.

I thought I would comment again so there is not a miscommunication on my part - Nissan does not charge us a delivery fee or Prep fees. They charge us freight.
I looked up on Google map; Deer Valley is 23 miles away from our store in Avondale.

So you charge us the fright charge or you pay for this?

LEAFer,
We can sell to California residents. We can do purchase or lease to a customer.

How would that work? You sell to me in San Diego, I fill out all the paperwork/sign it in Phoenix? Do I pick the car up in Phoenix or is it delivered to my local dealer?

LEAFer,
It seems to me that it might be better to find out how much to ship the car to your home. We could have the paperwork sent to you or you could come here prior to shipping the vehicle. We have great relationships with few trucking companies.

Which companies do you recommend...I did an internet search and got way too many people wanting to ship the car for me :)

It would be nice to have a reliable name or two to call instead of 8 strangers sending me emails

Thanks

Gavin

ps...i sent an email to one of your employees...i did not hear back...should i resend it?

Get the plug-in L2 EVSE, stop at RV parks, etc. and take an extra day or two to drive your LEAF home (at about 250 miles per day)?

Sounds good...where can I buy a plug-in L2 EVSE?

Gavin

I just spoke the Leaf specialist at my local dealer (Suki at Sunnyvale Nissan). He said they will be getting their demo car in mid January at the earliest, probably later than my car's delivery. So I would be ordering on faith. Probably OK given the reviews, I suppose.

He also said that they plan to do Leafs at MSRP, not above or below.

We received a notice from Nissan that there will be a Nissan LEAF tour this fall 2010. The tour feature a "Test Drive" for LEAF reservations holders. The tour dates and locations will be communicated in September.

Leviton ... waiting for their price info.

Assuming a L2 EVSE and some socket-adapters, and the L1 EVSE for emergency use, ... and an AAA card ... is the trip feasible?

Are there enough dealers, welding shops, motels, attractions, etc. along the way so that you can call and arrange for enough connections to 240v?

Maybe start a thread "Help Gavin Home"?

Is it Phoenix to ... Santa Fe?

I think an EV (perhaps EV1 or ??) went cross-country a few years back.

I asked someone from Nissan - "The driver’s seat position for Leaf, to me, feels just like Versa. It’s not high or low, just normal. It may not have the range of adjustment of the Maxima. It does have a tilt steering wheel.. at least in all the ones I’ve driven"
