    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Add me to the list. Just discovered today that I am down a bar. 25.5k/15 months, Tucson, AZ

USB Charging - Not what I expected

I must say, I was not expecting this to work. I've messed with the USB Debugging mode for other things before, but I was skeptical. I did this and it works beautifully. Thanks! A note to others - enabling this can cause some wonkiness when doing other things with the USB port so turning it...

USB Charging - Not what I expected

I do not believe there is anything on the Leaf that would let you do this. From what I've seen the USB port is really intended as a music port and not a charging port. However an easy fix should be on your Droid X itself. When you're connected via USB, you should be able to pull down the...

HOW TO: Make the VSP (noisemaker) button default to off

A second assurance here - I'm not very car or electrical savvy, and the instructions were great for me -- absolutely no problems doing the install. The only thing not listed in the initial instructions is some discussion about using a different mode on the TR7 to change the timing. I ended up...

Getting a static shock when I exit the vehicle

This has not been my experience either. I suspect the "dissipate" is really just a change in climate. Down here in Tucson, shocking gets really bad for me during the winter. I got mine in April, and I am still getting shocked. Leather seats really are the way to go, but I can't justify that...

    Schneider EVSE

    I haven't tried to confirm it (I don't know how to look up something to ensure it is UL listed) but this is from the side of my unit: http://i.imgur.com/pLtivl.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Does speed sensing wiper only work on int?

Perhaps you don't have the Navigation manual? It's listed in there in Viewing Vehicle Information, page 6-4 in my copy. In the car itself the option is in Settings -> Comfort & Convenience Sadly, the manual just says "When this item is turned to ON, the wiper interval is adjusted...

Does speed sensing wiper only work on int?

I haven't had a lot of opportunities to use the windshield wipers, but for a while I suspected the "Speed Sensing Wiper Interval" option was not working. However, I played with it a little last night and I believe that the option works when you're on the intermittent speed, but when you are on...

    Schneider EVSE

I would be surprised, but if this is a real concern, I would go ahead and contact Schneider now. My guess is they could determine from the serial number whether it has old or new. This way, you could get it fixed now instead of when you get your car (I'm assuming that's what December is about)

    Schneider EVSE

Just wanted to give a small follow-up on this. It's now been almost a month and I have not had a single failure. The day after the update I stopped watching to make sure the car was charging (a habit I got into with the failure) and I have not had any instances of coming out to find the car...

For anyone planning on getting the telematics/carwings NTB11-041 update at Thoroughbred: I was their "trial by fire" person on this one. I had an appointment at 8:30 yesterday morning. After I got there it took about 2 hours before they decided that there was an actual update for them to...

Watch what you say on your phone

I have been afraid of something like this happening so I always announce "You're on car speakerphone" when I make or receive a call.

    AZ State tax credit

I only quickly looked at this, and as near as I can tell it only applies if you install this when building the house.

    Schneider EVSE

For anyone that is interested it looks like at least one online company is offering this unit for $750. I know nothing about the company, and I couldn't figure out how much shipping was going to be. From another thread:

GE Announces WattStation Electric Car Charger

The MSRP for the Schneider unit is something like $1,200, but some local dealers are offering it for much less. I got my Schneider unit for $820 after tax (no shipping)

    Schneider EVSE

Schneider person (Bob) showed up at my place yesterday to do the firmware update. As with mckemie's experience, the person was from Iowa, coming out to AZ to do the update. It does sound like Shneider is giving special treatment to these initial units. I get the impression that they plan to...

Why does Robert Llewellyn's Leaf have faster acceleration?

I went ahead and tried this, but I did not really see any difference. I did have someone else doing the timing (I was using the stopwatch feature of my watch, which requires hitting one button for start, and a different for stop), and we were able to get times around 9.5 seconds. However, we...

Is there a trick to getting charging station updates?

This is not true across the board. Here in Tucson, there are 3 Chargepoint locations, with one being a Level 1. The two Level 2 Chargepoint stations are on my map.
