Does speed sensing wiper only work on int?

I haven't had a lot of opportunities to use the windshield wipers, but for a while I suspected the "Speed Sensing Wiper Interval" option was not working. However, I played with it a little last night and I believe that the option works when you're on the intermittent speed, but when you are on...

Why does Robert Llewellyn's Leaf have faster acceleration?

Howdy, A while back on his "FullyChargedShow" show, Robert Llewellyn did a 0-60 test on a Nissan Leaf. You can see it at the start of this episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6m_iIbX0gmA He manages 0-60 in about 7.5 seconds. I remember reading that the 0-60 was closer to 10 seconds...

Small bug found with tree meter

Ok, so I realize the tree meter is useless - but I figured I would pass this along anyway. I have a road I travel on frequently that I can swith into Neutral and the Leaf stays at about the same speed. I was doing this the other day and for some reason pushed down on the "a" pedal. When I...

Chargepoint app for Android now available

Found out from the autoblog article that the Chargepoint app is now on the Android. I downloaded it and it seems to function pretty well. I'm less than impressed with its "trip mapping" option. However, the app does let me see the stations in my area and easily check the status of them - so...

Difficulty charging my phone (Droid 2) via USB port

So I have a Droid 2 from Verizon. I haven't "rooted" the phone or anything like that. I've found that when I try to use a USB cord to charge my phone that my phone freaks out. It indicates a USB connection, then it goes away, then it comes back, and goes away again. It repeatedly does this...

Can the turn signal noise be modified in any way?

From http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=2773&start=70: I didn't want to go off-topic in that thread so I am starting this one. I had no idea about this and now it makes me wonder if there is a way to modify the sound. I have thought that the clicker noise was WAY too loud, so if...

120v EVSE bag has a zipper inside

For most, this is probably a "yeah, I knew that" post: I discovered today that inside the 120v EVSE bag, there is a zipper running down the back. I'm not entirely sure what it is there for, but I decided to use it to store the (mostly unnecessary) instructions that come with the EVSE.

Leaf not always charging - suggestions for diagnosing?

I have a Schneider EVSE and my car is not always charging. I've finally been able to figure out at least part of what is going on and I'm wondering if there are any suggestions on how to go further. First, here's what happens in a normal charge: -Plug EVSE into Leaf -Leaf beeps once -EVSE...

ACC mode = no climate control (but fan works)

Over here http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=3262&start=60 it was pointed out to me that the heater and the AC do not work when you are in ACC mode. The fan will "blow", but neither the heater nor the AC will function. This may be obvious to other people, but it wasn't so to me...

Manual holder - what are the velcro strips for?

I do not recall seeing this asked before - forgive me if this is a dupe. Got my car today (yay!) and was looking at the little stretchy-strapy thing designed to hold the manuals that come with the car. It mostly makes sense, except that there are two big patches of velcro on the back of it...

Does acceleration drop if using AC like in an ICE?

I don't know if this is a silly question, but in most cars I've driven when I turn the AC on the car loses some power. It will slow down a little with the throttle kept the same, and it won't accelerate quite as quickly. I understand why, but I honestly don't know if a similar problem could...

Windows Up & AC On vs Windows Down - can the Leaf test this?

I'm sure you're all familiar with the debate over which is better - driving with the windows up and the AC on, or the windows down and the AC off. My understanding is that it really depends on the car, the speed, and the conditions. I was wondering if the instrumentation on the Leaf is precise...

Sub $800 EVSE - AV the only game in town right now?

I've been keeping up on most of these threads but honestly I haven't paid a LOT of attention to the EVSE talk until now (I finally have a delivery month). Unless I'm missing something the only EVSE that is currently available for purchase (and delivery!) that is under $800 is the AeroVironment...

    Power switch - positions?

I've gone through the manual and a few things seem a little odd, but the biggest seems to be talk about the power switch being in "positions". It almost feels to me like someone took another manual with a standard key (which can go from off, acc, on, start) type positions and tried to cram it...

Green Car Reports compares Volt to Leaf

Green Car Reports compares Volt to Leaf I'm posting this because there was a particular statement that I had not heard before: I'm wondering if anyone who has had a test drive could confirm this. I know the parking brake will automatically disengage if you have your seatbelt on and go forward...

For those of you unable to change dealerships-website fixed?

I placed a request for a quote to a dealer who not only came back at MSRP, but also tacked on some additional "services". I rejected the quote, and have been stuck in limbo where I can't select a new dealer ever since. I just got the following email today: I did not have the link, so I chose...

Thoroughbred Nissan (Tucson, AZ) $1,165 over MSRP (sort of)

Just got my quote back from one of the local dealers here in Tucson AZ. My SL with DC Charger & floor mats is coming out to $36,575 including destination charge. Where is the extra $1,165 coming from? A $269 window tint and a $869 "Thoroughbred Package" which I'm told is "Undercoating...

It's August - so can I order now?

Ok, I'm mostly kidding. I imagine that us lucky few that got the "August" order email will not be able to continue with the order process until sometime late in the month. I was wondering though if anyone has heard any more specifics on this. Any details would help keep me from freaking out...

    The RAV4 EV is back

Not a vehicle for me, but the RAV4 EV has some pretty devoted followers. Looks like Tesla and Toyota are working together and bringing back the RAV4 EV. http://green.autoblog.com/2010/07/16/breaking-tesla-and-toyota-to-develop-rav4-ev-hope-to-launch-in/
