Lost Another Bar. Did My Actual Range Suddenly Decrease?

Thanks. My concern was the bar loss came with a drop of 8% capacity per the OBD reader. So I suspect the data from the OBD port reflects the same capacity as the bar graph. The actual range loss basically hasn't changed overnight.

Lost Another Bar. Did My Actual Range Suddenly Decrease?

Question re: range loss on 2012 Leaf. I was down three bars a day ago, and OBD reader showed 66% when fully charged. This morning it went down to four bars and shows 58% fully charged. Is that a loss of actual range or did it simply recalibrate maximum range on the meter? IOW, did I just lose...

Asking for Lemon Law protection on Monday

It's a fact that the battery issues are affecting a tiny percentage of Leafs. I bet an even smaller percentage applies to perspective buyers that know or care about the battery issues. If you think the battery issues impact future Leaf sales, think again. Perhaps in Arizona, but outside of...

Asking for Lemon Law protection on Monday

    1. I wasn't "attacking" anyone, that should be obvious, and your quote was from my post to another poster, not saintyjohn. 2. I have read all 12 pages, but -clearly- you haven't read this last one. 3. I'm not looking for sympathy. Where do you get that from? 4. I've already said saintyohann...

Asking for Lemon Law protection on Monday

Your situation is a bit different than the desert batteries. You may indeed have Lemon Law recourse. I'm not in your shoes, but if it were me I'd wait and see what shakes next week. I think your goal is restitution, and that would happen more quickly if Nissan tries to make things right.

Battery "balancing" at an 80% charge

Just a guess, but if you always charge to 100%, perhaps little or no balancing is done. Or maybe two messages only get generated if external current is used in the pack balancing.

Asking for Lemon Law protection on Monday

I pretty much agree here. But in this case, their broadcasted ventings may be counter-productive to others in similar situations. They let off steam, well, bully for them! It would be better for everybody for them to host a "ha ha, f... you Nissan" party and end it there. I don't advocate...

Asking for Lemon Law protection on Monday

I don't mean to dismiss your claim. You have a legitimate complaint, and I honestly wish you well with it. I guess I am a bit angry at those folks in AZ who just couldn't be happy with their settlement. I don't see how intimating that going to the press is going to help you. As far as class...

Asking for Lemon Law protection on Monday

You have zero proof of any of this. Anecdotal evidence doesn't count. If any causes were advanced by the Phoenix news coverage, they vanished with the second hit piece filled with obscenely obvious selective editing by a reporter trying her hardest to be a Leslie Stahl clone. Your...

Asking for Lemon Law protection on Monday

Be sure to blast Nissan then, will ya? I'm sure that will advance your cause and be of great aid to all the others with battery problems. Nothing gets action faster than local news media with delusions of "60 minutes" dancing in their heads. A little artful, selective editing and they can...

Battery "balancing" at an 80% charge

If you are referring to 100% charges, I can tell you that -clearly- is not the case. I have only one timer, end time only at 7 AM seven days a week. I have gotten those two email message every time I charge to 100%, and have never gotten them for any 80% charge. The interval between the email...

Battery "balancing" at an 80% charge

Quick slightly OT question: I rarely charge to 100%, but I have noticed that when I do I get two "charge completed" messages with varying intervals. Is the second message telling me the Leaf has "battery balanced" and is back at 100%? If so, can I assume the longer the interval between the...

    JD Power Survey

OIC, so Nissan is paying JD Power mega $$$ because they are too lazy to surf the web. And yeah, we ALL KNOW how factual, verifiable and reliable Wiki pages are.

    Blink 2.1

Followup. I called Blink service and the guy on the phone could not be more helpful. He was aware of this problem and said a repairman would be calling for an appointment. This was on a Friday around 4 PM. Two hours later a repairman called, and three days later he came out. The problem is...

SV buyers: Cheapskate losers or smartest guys in the room?

You folks thinking lack of QC is no big deal because a) there's none nearby where you live and/or b) you don't ever use or need one: If you're leasing, sure that makes sense. But if you own the Leaf, you probably will be selling or trading it in someday. Lack of a QC option may be a HUGE deal...

Why I Love My LEAF, is the Majority Too Silent?

I had to take the oil burner out today as my wife has the Leaf. I went into the garage an hour after I returned and remembered another thing I love about the Leaf: No hot engine, so it doesn't make the garage stifling hot.

National Plug In Day Come Attend your local one

The SF Bay Area Leafs are trying to make the SF event the "signature" event for the plug in day, including the largest assemblage of Leafs ever. Hopefully, we will get local press coverage. Free stuff, chance to talk to Nissan team members, lots and lots of Leafs and Leaf owners along with a...

    Thanks guys

Since he is leasing, there is not a single issue that he reported that he needs to be concerned about or react to. I'd rate the post as a B+ for comical cynicism, but about a D- for applicable reality.

How does spirited driving affect range in the Leaf?

It's not only off the line that the Leaf is faster, it's at freeway speeds too. Say you're in a lane that suddenly slows to 45 mph. Aggravating. Suddenly, magic happens and a lane clears up next to you. You change lanes. The Leaf accelerates and closes that gap up to freeway speeds faster...
