Hello everyone. First time caller, long time listener. First let me say thanks for all of the great info on this topic. Like others, it's helped me tremendously as I prepare to enter the lion's den to negotiate a lease.

A couple remaining questions I have:

1) How should I think about options packages (eg. The charge package for the S, or the LED headlights and quick charge package for the SV) with respect to the cost of the lease? For example, should I figure the value of the package will depreciate at the same rate as the rest of the car (~38% over 24 months), and thus should amortize that over the term of the lease ($1300 list * 38% / 24 = ~$20/month)?

2) Has anyone verified the estimated invoice costs listed earlier in this forum (http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1022)?

Again, thanks much for your help, both past and future.

I work for a dealership in Colorado. Your pricing is a bit off for List and Invoice but that could be because of location...

2013 LEAF S model: Floor mats (includes destination, marketing fees, and accessories)
MSRP: $29,820
Invoice: $28,239

The Charge Package for the S model is important because without that you are essentially buying a 2012 LEAF for a 2013 price. Charge Package get you the 6.6Kw Onboard charger that reduces charging times.

On the SV do you live in an area where the Level 3 Charge is available? Do you really need auto headlights or fog lights? Those are important questions to ask based on cost of packages.

ASK FOR A RESIDUAL VALUE! Your LEAF will depriciate at a preset value based on Nissan Corporations rules. At the end you can buy the car out for that amount, turn it in and start over, or hopefully take good care of it and have equity (more value in car than residual value) and use that as money down for your next vehicle.

Since the 2013 S is priced so far below any of the 2012 models, how is this bad?

Thanks! So how much more per month should I expect to pay for an S with the Charger package, given that list price on the option it is $1,300, and invoice is $1,127?

I live in the Seattle area where we're fortunate to have a fair number of the Level 3 chargers (of course we could always use more :)), so the quick charger is important.

Thanks again for your help.
