i have an LELink from http://www.outdoor-apps.com, purchased maybe a year ago. it has a solid white case.

LeafSpy Pro can apparently see the device, but i get the "Wait 4 ELM 0/1" message forever. logging the ELM yielded this:

Code:
Leaf Spy Pro 1.2.5    0  9.2  en
0A    1 0    965    963 : [00 00] 004 ATE1

ad inifinitum.

i assume this means that somehow this adapter is not compatible? i was reading another thread that says some of the newer ones merged the bluetooth into the PIC and do not support all the commands, but i would have expected leafspy to tell me that if this adapter was incompatible. also this casts some doubt on which one i should buy if this particular module is not supported. is there a known good one on amazon as of 1/2016?

thanks,

rob

This is the one I bought on Amazon for my 2015 SL W/iPhone 6. It works great

thanks - what's confusing about this is that mine is the same brand, but is in a solid white case (rather than clear). furthermore there's a barcode on the package and if i scan that barcode in the amazon app, i hit the page you pointed to.

maybe the older outdoor-apps.com LELink is not compatible?

I noticed today that when I have LeafSpy Pro connected to the car while charging, the Leaf makes a clicking noise around the front right side near the headlights. I only noticed because I was outside the car while charging and had the app going. Is this normal? It sounds like some relay is going on/off real fast and I don't think it's a good thing running continuously.

I'm not sure if the same clicking happens while driving and have the app open. I'll have to check on that.

^^^ Normal.
See
http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=12857&p=294195&hilit=clicking+relay#p294090
for detailed explanation.

Only happens when Vehicle Control Module is powered up for some external event, such as charging, remote climate control, telematics, etc. and using LEAF Spy. Does not do this when driving.

Thanks for pointing me to the thread! Good to know it only happens during charging.

I'd disagree a bit that there's no harm though. If I had the relays switching that fast for so long (like every night), I can imagine them get busted... We've had relays get bad on other cars.

You could say that is a bug in LeafSpy. The adapter name is not recognized "TDA61". I will use a different method so it will recognize this and most other adapters that don't have ELM in the name.

great, glad to hear that rather than "this LELink is broken" :)

if you'd like me to test the fix, i can join your beta group.

Hi,

I've had my Leaf almost a year and LeafSpy on iOS since February last year. I found this link via the App Store.

I display the temperatures in C, but the app displays the outside temp in F. How can I change this to C?

The next release adds the ability to convert the outside temperature if it is not displayed in the correct units. The units of the outside temp are unknown to LeafSpy. It just displays what it is given. Normally this is in the country units based on where it is manufactured. So it could be C or F.

This new option will use the current C/F setting in Units to determine what conversion is needed if you select the conversion option.

If the current units selected are C and you select to convert the outside temp it will convert from F to C. If you have selected F as your units and select to convert the outside temp it will convert C to F.

Here is what the new settings screen looks like.

If you would like to test version 1.2.7 which addresses this problem please send your email address to the email address on the About screen and I will add you to the tester's group. You need to be running iOS 8+ to be a tester.

Turbo3;
Recently purchased a 2012 Leaf and am soon to try a "100 mile trip" to my rural property.

Flyct (member) has recommended this dongle;

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QJRYMFC

This, along with the beta LeafSpy iphone version for iphone (I have a 5s with iOS 7x). Do you believe this is the latest set up (with iOS 8x) to use the Bluetooth communications effectively?

I realize the value of the LeafSpy APP before I attempt this journey. Although new to the forum, I've already received invaluable recommendations on how to make this trip successfully - I'm convinced it's a doable challenge.

Yes, the LELink should work fine with your 5s.

Turbo3;
Will I need to get the beta version of Leaf Spy to work correctly with my 5s and the LELink? Also should I get the extension cord to mount the dongle out of "knee" range and also to allow removal without potential buss damage? I'm thinking that once all the hardware is installed,( my iphone is communicating with the Leaf thru Bluetooth currently), that opening the APP is all I'll need to do? I am going to read the wiki instructions in detail, but just trying to get the jist before I order.

I'm trying to get Leaf Spy Pro running on my iPhone 6S+ with my KiWi 3 (Kickstarter) in my new to me 2013 SV. I'm pretty sure that I'm missing some sort of "press here to connect BT LE" or something. Dongle + phone work with Dash Command in a 2006 Sprinter.
I get solid green and flashing blue when connected to the LEAF.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, including "you can't do that yet" lol.

Disclosure, I already posted this in the android thread by mistake, sorry.

The latest test version 1.2.7 of LeafSpy Pro supports the KiWi 3. To join the test group send your email address to the email address on the About screen.

I take the point that Bluetooth is easier than Wi-Fi, but the LELink doesn't seem to be available in the UK. I've searched around and found this variant of the iCar3 but I'm still not sure. Anyone tried it or know of a better alternative to the LELink?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00US6T9D0/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=GAKIVJJPNVA&coliid=IMOZ2LHHMXJRQ&psc=1

If all else fails I could import an LELink but it's a costly solution!
