Rock on!

One more plus for Canada.
Just wish they'd unlock the Nissan LEAF app for Canadians and announce when we can expect test drives.
At least we have a place to post questions and get updates for the Canadian LEAF which hopefully means the pace is picking up :)

The post that mentions about Facebook and Twitter links is definitely correct.

I followed that and was finally one of the lucky people test driving the Leaf in Kirkland (west Montreal) last night. We were initially something like 36 people registered, but only 15-20 showed up. The test drive was scheduled between 6 and 8:30 PM and I received confirmation at 6:30 PM!!!

For those interested in future test drive, make sure your Security settings in Facebook allow you to receive e-mail notificaitons. I was set with maximum security, this is why I never got the e-mail.

Havind said that, today, it was CommunAuto's turn to take them for a test drive.

I have been impressed by the power and acceleration. ECO mode is alright for saving battery. No spare tire. Nice solar panel (on the rear spoiler) to keep the little 12V battery charged up. Interior is very light color, I'd prefer a darker seat covers for the kids, but I guess we can fit custom covers! I'm 6ft tall, more of the 3XL dimensions and was very comfortably seated in the front. In the rear, I was able to seat behing my own front seat's position, say it was acceptable for me.

We've been told reservations will open for Canadians sometime in June. Those registered on the Nissan website will receive e-mail notifications. It will be on the first come, first serve basis. 99$ refundable deposit, like in the States I think.
We can expect deliveries to start by end of summer for fleets of commercial vehicles (CommunAuto and some restaurant with home delivery service in Qc). For personnal vehicles, its more likely to be late 2011, early 2012. That's what we were told, although Nissan's people were reluctant to speculate on delivery dates. No details on the number of units to come to Canada.

In conclusion: I want one!

Bye,

BigBen
