LEAF wreck. Oh, the horror!

I am pleased to have picked up another wrecked LEAF, this one on the east coast.

Looks like the front end damage is minimal, a lot of good parts and panels to be had

This one looks a bit more challenging to repair - quite a bit of rear-end damage!

The first Leaf in Oregon ($14k) was bought by Steve Woodruff at Autobeyours.com. He intends to fix it and put it back on the road.

Maybe on future wrecks, Steve could be 'helped' to understand how important it is to some of us that you get one of these to mess with, for the benefit of many. I'm sure some of us here on MNL. com know some knuckle draggers that'd be glad to 'help' Steve, in that regard.

oh, and it would appear that the VERSA "a" pillar wont work for the LEAF.

It says loss type collision, I don't see much panel damage at all, maybe its underneath the vehicle. Estimated repair is over 21k !!!

If that was in reply to my earlier post - I was joking - I am very happy to see you buying these wrecked LEAFs and making them new again for future owners to enjoy. Have followed you on PriusChat for a while as well and look forward to seeing your progress on making these LEAFs whole again.

I have all the mechanical aptitude of a stunned marmoset so I'm not likely to be of any use but out of interest where in S Indiana?

Here in Indiuckyville we have 3 Leafs to my knowledge; hardly SF but ok for a 120k pop. burg that doesn't even offer glass recycling.

We hosted the Hoosier EV club last month, with a tour of the Mid America Science park and also a delicious Barbeque.

just dodge the Tornadoes and be prepared for more prius stuff than LEAF stuff.

I am looking to borrow a part, from a LEAF wreck or ??:
the QC socket.

I think that the QC connector (socket) on the LEAF
disconnects "fairly easily", but I will check to be sure.

Also, I think that a working LEAF works fine without it,
but I will check that also.

I would like to borrow one (or buy for a SMALL price) for a few weeks. Please PM me if willing to help.

We are trying to have a suitable mating PLUG made, and
having a real SOCKET off a LEAF would be a big help
for the mold-maker to see and measure.

Wouldn't it be easier to "rent" the chademo plug from Ingineer to make a copy rather than the socket.
