I'm sure the upcoming deliveries are going to generate the most excitement for the month of December, but I'm beginning to wonder how smoothly the ordering is going to go for the new launch markets. December is less that two weeks away and I haven't received an email about scheduling a home assessment yet even though I have a December order month in the Raleigh, NC market. I plan on getting the waiver but I thought that without the waiver or completed assessment you can't order. Has anyone else outside of the initial launch areas gotten the email to schedule your home assessment? I also noticed several weeks ago that Nissan pulled the launch schedule page from the LEAF website. You can still find it indexed in the search but it just brings up a blank page if you click on it.

What's really concerning me was that when I contacted a local certified LEAF dealer to ask about pricing, they said that they didn't have any pricing yet for the LEAF but would be sure to let me know when they got it. After I sent them the price list with the invoice prices included, they apologized, telling me that the reservation period was over and I was going to have to wait till next year sometime when Nissan starts taking orders again and that they don't take orders, Nissan does (this came from a manager). They really seemed to have no idea how the ordering process works or that they might even be getting requests for quotes next month. I referred them to this forum so they could see how other dealers were handling the ordering process and sent out queries to some other local dealers. Hopefully they will know what's going on.

I'm sure December ordering won't happen until the end of the month anyway, but it looks like it will be an interesting process in the new launch markets even without eTec to complicate things.

I live in Raleigh and I am expecting a December order as well. I reserved mine on 4/20. From what others have said in the initial launch markets it seems that the bulk of the orders opened towards the end of each month. As far as the dealers goes, that is interesting. Which dealership did you speak with? I believe they are right that all ordering/negotiating must be done exclusively online through Nissan, but you'd think they would have some information by now.

I am in virginia ordered April 20th December order month . Talked to a couple dealers seem to know what's up and some don't. Most when asked about a LEAF reply, lease yes what type of Nissan would you like to lease! To which I reply LEAF you know the electric car.......

Some have had online training on the dashboard system , all here sticking to msrp

I expect I might see my dash open for assesment in early Dec
Though I will go with Spx or levity and get a waiver

Guess if I am lucky late December it will allow to RAQ

I'm also in the greater Raleigh area, near Chapel Hill, and likewise was advised of a December order date, but nothing more has happened. I talked via email with Leith Nissan, and the person there was very nice and said they would definitely be supporting the Leaf, but he didn't seem to know as much as I did about what's happening.

I'm trying to go ahead and reach an agreement with a dealer so I can select them as my preferred dealer and the RAQ process should be expedited (we'll both have already agreed to the price so I submit the RAQ, they agree and the order is placed). I'm pretty sure several of the people on this forum who already ordered did the same thing. The dealer in question was Leith, although after my post someone else at the dealership who knew something about the process emailed me back and said they are currently quoting MSRP and provided a couple other details. Michael Jordan Nissan has a LEAF specialist who seems very knowledgeable about the process but they are quoting MSRP + $999. I haven't heard back from Southern States yet but I'm thinking I'll need to broaden my search.

My main concern with Nissan is that I don't see them opening ordering until at least a month after they send out the email about scheduling the assessment. It's not a big deal, I'll eventually get to RAQ, but I am curious to know from the people who already ordered as to how long it was from getting the assessment email to getting the RAQ email.

I decided to NOT get an AV assessment, and asked Nissan Customer Service (1-877-664-2738) to enable the "AV waiver" on my account, so that the lack of an assessment would not delay RAQ and Ordering.

Yeah, I've already made the same decision too, its just that I don't imagine that they would open ordering for December orders for anyone here until the people who did want to go with AV had a chance to get their assessment done and recorded in the system. I'm just trying gauge how long it may be before they open orders depending on when they send out the email for scheduling the assessment. Do you remember how long it was from the time you got the assessment scheduling email to the time you got the RAQ email? I'm assuming it was at least a month in advance.

So I have had an AV assessment and am not sure I am going with them. I have a 4/20 PM Pacific Time reservation with a November order month, still waiting. I have called Nissan support several times this month and have been told that it is this month, I will order. I have emailed most delaerships in my state and the one next to me and have got a qoute for about $1000 below the invoice price. Don't forget to ask dealerships about holdbacks.

several got prices below INVOICE, including I. in fact, after destination, L3 charging, and the eco package, etc. my OUT THE DOOR price is less than $100 over MSRP.
