I trust that the admin and Tony will figure it out
As I'm gathering, it was some dispute over billing for the right to advertise... which is a real childish reason to do it, let alone continue to keep him banned after the two people clearly have one anothers' attention. For various other reasons (e.g. the multiple accounts required on each model of EV forums, the stale phpBB software, the intrusive and often irrelevant keyword link-ads, etc), some competition would be welcome to help shape the EV community going forward... it really takes just a couple of influential people to leave for a new platform and get some formidable competition goingDuncanCunningham said:I trust that the admin and Tony will figure it out
Good Lord! GRA isn't a mod now, is he?kubel said:Free speech, blah blah blah, private property, blah blah, rules, blah blah.
Let's get down to it: Tony said something, a mod got butthurt, Tony got banned. That's all that happened. That's all that ever happens when old timers of any forum get the ban hammer.

I just banned him this morning and already there's a topic here about it? Cyberspace...

Am I understanding correctly that you banned* him because his vendor dues were not paid ? No other reasons ?wxxyz said:Yes an over-reaction would be a good term. I hadn't heard anything from Tony in response to my emails sent in Jan and Feb, so I should have simply removed his vendor access as his account was expired.
jjeff said:Look, I'm not against Tony in the least but I was apparently one of the few who saw the offending post and I must say it wasn't pretty. It attacked with vigor another vendor(who also supports this site AFAIK) and I wish I hadn't seen it.
I can sort of understand you taking him to task for not paying vendor fees, but how does that impute his products ?TonyWilliams said:jjeff said:My post was a response to his advertisement while my company is paying the vendor fees. This person has been adversing his products for YEARS on this forum. So, my post was specifically intended to not be flattering of his product
I hope this gives some perspective.

That's a scary thought..FalconFour said:Seriously? There are some folks in the EV community that are indisputably immune from bans due to their contributions and activity in the EV scene - those whom have done such great work that's helped build the industry we have today. In my view, Tony is one of those people.
