I just got "the call" from my PD....my Leaf has arrived! My Leaf was the only one on the truck, so if they can get it prepped and charged theres a chance I can pick it up tonight. :)

Yay!

Congrats! I guess that will make me the lowest VIN on the spreadsheet that has not been delivered yet... not a title I was looking forward to... haha.

Well, I told someone else this.....a lot of people get the "come get your car" call as their next PD contact. I told my PD to call the minute he saw my car or heard ANYTHING.....so unless your PD is under similar orders, your car might already be delivered and is going through the QC checks and charging. I'll cross my fingers that you get "the call" before the day is out!!! ;)

PD's are actually being explicitly told by Nissan not to tell you when the car first arrives, only when it's ready for pickup. So unless you've developed a personal relationship with yours (or are extremely annoying), don't expect a call. The reason is apparently because there are a lot of nutcases out there (many of whom probably frequent this forum  ) who are so mad at Nissan because they aren't getting one of the first cars, their order got screwed up, their Amex wasn't accepted, AV installation has caused delays, etc. - Nissan is worried that these people might vandalize the LEAFs if their location gets out at the dealerships.

I wish that was the case. My PD (Danny at Fontana) is well aware of my desire to be notified when the car arrives or he hears anything... I hope you are right on that call... fingers crossed.

I find that reasoning suspect. They might not call you until the vehicle is ready in case there is a QC issue or it doesn't pass some safety check. No use having owners get exited only to have another delay. But because of crazy people and potential damage???? Sorry, not buying that one. :?

I call B.S. on that.

That's really far fetched, and has no basis in anyone's actions or statements. It's totally false.

More likely is that they don't want any customers to be frustrated if "prep" takes longer than expected due to glitches being worked out, or even a visit from the specialists. There is really nothing for the dealer to gain by giving an early heads-up; only down-side if there are delays. It's the same reason Nissan is following the same advice themselves, telling buyers only when the cars are on the truck. Now they have the flexibility to screw up wherever they like. :)

Vandalism my ass.

CONGRATS Jimmydreams!
Enjoy your LEAF and NO MORE GAS! :D

I'm surprised at how slowly the Dec. 20-23 LEAFs are trickling out to buyers. Once they got rolling, I thought we'd see at least ten a day. Time's running out for a number of folks, like me, who got the Monday email promising delivery within seven days. I wonder if they're still tinkering with some of the cars at Long Beach.

Don't be too surprised. Check the $5K Rebate Fund thread. Someone just added 100 EVs of some type and sucked up $500k of the rebate funds.

Anyone else notice some small red or orange stickers inside the drivers door by the door latch with numbers written on them. Mine has 3 of these stickers.....

Mine too. I've seen that done to note "programs" completed (TSBs and the like). Don't really know what it means on the LEAF.

Just over an hour ago Joanna from Fontana gave me "the call." My LEAF arrived today and had just completed PDI (the tech came in late/special to get it done). I am leaving Phoenix in the morning to take delivery tomorrow! I will be the proud owner of Glacier White SL-e VIN#182!

Jimmydreams, it must have been you saying that earlier today... that I would get "the call" before the day is out... you were right!

Enjoy your LEAF! Good luck driving your LEAF from California to Arizona! LOL!

Thanks! Thats what fladbeds are for... not great PR but that gets it home... I don't think it would make it 349 miles on one charge.

Congratulations! I know that was really getting to you. Let me know if you see a random silver SL #202 while you are there. It would be the first official spotting of my "missing" LEAF and would be greatly appreciated! Thank You.

tronz, someone just posted a pic that arrived at Fontana today and there's a silver one on it! In the Truck of Leafs thread.

Edit: I was wrong, that wasn't a silver Leaf. dammit!

Mine has the 3 stickers as well. Maybe some sort of quality control checks? 3 different people.. to make sure the car was perfect and ready to be shipped. Just my guess.

There is a silver leaf in Fontanas new car inventory, in addition to the red and white ones...
