I just found tests that are being run on the A2Z EV CCS1 to CHAdeMO adapter and posted on the Facebook Nissan LEAF Owners Group English. Dallas Ostrander in North Carolina has tested it successfully at EVConnect, Electrify America and EVgo charging stations. The adapter is for sale now, and first shipments are expected in the 2nd week of June.

Unfortunately, that's pretty non-specific.

EVgo uses stations from at least these vendors: Delta, Efacec (maybe not any more), BTC Power and Signet.

From https://insideevs.com/news/389891/exclusive-interview-electrify-america-problems-solutions/ for Electrify America:
"We mostly talked about the challenges of having four different versions of their DC fast chargers. Electrify America currently uses units made by ABB, BTC, Signet, and Efacec. Every time they have a software or hardware update, it has to be done on all four brands, and they don't always all work the same afterward. Fitezek has to work out the kinks with all four partners and they all respond on different timelines. I could see that this was clearly a pain point for him.

For example, there have been problems with the Nayax credit card readers and after rounds of software revisions three of the four manufacturers appear to have the compatibility issue resolved (it's still in final validation) but one of the manufacturers hasn't managed to correct the problem yet. This happens all the time. When Electrify America identifies a problem, they need to work it out four times and that obviously causes these issues to take longer to resolve than they would if there were fewer equipment vendors."

They all physically look different. There are at least two versions of Signet. Efacec is probably a goner (ripped out and replaced w/another vendor). Lots of ABB have also been ripped out and replaced w/other vendors. There are also these next gen units (https://media.electrifyamerica.com/en-us/releases/175). The dispensers on those can come from SK Signet or BTC Power. I don't recall if the chargers (behind a fence) come from both or just one and whether you can mix/match (e.g. BTC Power dispenser with SK Signet cabinet).

From left to right of the pics at https://www.chevybolt.org/threads/d...ify-america.34849/?post_id=533232#post-533232, that's BTC Power, ABB, Efacec and Signet "v1". https://www.plugshare.com/location/296759 is Signet "v2". https://www.plugshare.com/location/198229 has both Signet "v1" and "v2".

You provided plughare links to US charging stations. The adapter review from the clickable text link I provided was from a User in Canada, so I expect that they were using a charging station in Canada.

I looked at the Canadian User's review video (dated May 2, 2024) and tried to match it to similar Shell stations and environments via plugshare. The station below seems to be a match:

Vancouver, BC, Canada

Check updated pic from July 2023 for the above station.

The station looks similar to those offered by the Green Dot Group in Canada, or the Watti Direct 60kW model.

Older (2022 and earlier) plugshare pics for the above station show ChargePoint stations in that location, but they were probably the ones replaced with the Shell stations.

The battery will heat whether it is accepting a fast charge or if a person is pulling alot of energy out of the battery due to internal resistance. Resistance=heat. That is how a home space heater works.

Haven't done my homework enough to provide numbers - the motor pulls less power out of the battery under normal driving conditions than a fast charger tries to shove in. I mean, you charge for 35 minutes and drive for two hours. Clearly the charger is shoving energy into the battery faster than the motor is pulling out under normal conditions.

So less heat from driving than fast charging. I've seen articles and videos where someone has tried to track a Leaf and found turtle mode eventually b/c they got something hot - battery or inverter.

Anyhow - lithium batteries don't like heat.

Here is a youtube video of the same Canadian User testing the adapter on a Chevron ON the RUN station:

Looks like it's this station is also in Vancouver:

These On the RUN stations are offered in Canada by Parkland.

Those look like they're from Freewire like https://freewiretech.com/dc-boost-charger-200/ or https://freewiretech.com/pro-series/.

Unfortunately, the company may be nearing toast status (e.g. https://www.cstoredive.com/news/freewire-technologies-near-terminating-operations/715981/ and https://electrek.co/2024/05/05/freewire-closes-its-hq-and-lays-off-just-about-everyone/).

I doubt Watti Direct makes those units. They are likely rebadges of Phihong units:
https://www.phihong.com/products/ev-chargers/ds180-series/

If you click on Products > EV Chargers, it takes you to https://www.zerovatech.com/product/. I've had Phihong AC adapters from back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Their stuff came with some HTC-made Pocket PCs like those sold under the Compaq iPaq brand.

Update: Looks like "Zerova" is a Phihong spinoff.
