Before I go on the 2013 EV Rally I would really like to have my LEAFScan but I think that's unlikely so where can I get the next best thing? (Fully assembled)

Check this out, for about $15 plus android phone, you can get an excellent battery status report app http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=12098" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If the OP doesn't have an Android device, Turbo3 sells his own fancy gid meter (http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=269771#p269771" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). He lives within a few miles of me, but not the OP...

Thank you! This looks awesome!

Hey Luft,

I'm in Renton and I might be able to loan out my GID meter for the rally, or other medium duration things. If you want your own, feel free to buy the parts and I’ll help you build it. Gary Giddings probably still sells kit parts at http://www.wwwsite.com/puzzles/socmeter/ and last I looked, the parts were $170.

Personally, I’m excited about $15 Bluetooth adapter and Android app talked about at http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=12098 and I think that it will fit your needs better, because it has battery temps. Arguably that will be the most important thing for you to keep an eye on during the rally.

To answer the question about availability:

Yes, the SOC/GID-Meter, in Kit form, or Built and tested,
is available. There is an email contact at the bottom of
my "socmeter" web page, see the link in my signature.
You might want to read that page for more information.

We hope to add the battery information during the next
couple of monthd: Temperatures; Cellpair voltage max,
average, min, and spread; and the apparent Pack Capacity.

We already have GIDs, %Gids, SOC in mode 1, and Pack
Output (voltage, current, and power) in mode 2.

The LED display is visible, even in sunlight, and the characters
are large and easy to read, even at a glance.
