Cooler Leaf - on Heat Energy Storage & Ice Packs

Please keep testing! While I do not have high ambient temps to worry about here in the Pacific Northwest, I do experience HIGH pack temps on occasion while DC quick charging repeatedly on road trips. A solution to cool the pack through the HV access would be great.

    Touring in an EV

EV road trips in a LEAF are quite fun. My family has gone on numerous EV road trips in the past two years. Since we own two LEAFs and no other vehicles, it is, literally, the only way to travel. The longest trip that we've done is to cover 3600 miles in 17 days driving from Canada to Mexico...

    2014 SL has issues?

There were no charges in fixing these issues. Wouldn't that have been awful?!

    2014 SL has issues?

Within a week of purchasing my 2014 SL, it was back at our local dealership getting the hood realigned and glove box fit fixed. From the factory, the hood was substantially misaligned. The glove box had about a 1/3 inch gap on one side--I was surprised that it even closed. The fit/finish of my...

Turn on Remote AC/charging heats up battery from air flow

This is interesting data. I will be placing a remote thermometer in the HV access area to start making some observations too. If there could be a way to manipulate the air flow to/from the battery tray area via the HV access area in the rear passenger footwell, it could potentially be beneficial...

    Leaf Spy Lite

I'm not sure if it makes much of a difference for the functionality of the display, but I've seen >30 degrees difference between MAX and MIN pack temps. More temp readings: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8RkQ9sOBlRfTnMwNlYtMUgxdk0/edit?usp=sharing

Looking for a small portable DCFC

I see that having this on board as being all about interstate travel. There are already acceptable solutions for charging at various opportunity charging locations using upgraded EVSE. However, for those who have ventured far beyond their regional infrastructure, this offers the ability to...

DC Fast charger coming to Camarillo Premium Outlet Stores

This is a good location! It's going to be nice not having to climb that grade to get to the Thousand Oaks CHAdeMO, to just then turn around to back down to Malibu.

    EV Bumper Stickers?

I really like the location to the sides of the rear plate. EVPlates.com has a good selection of frames, too.

    Aftermarket billet grill- black mesh

Lots of pics of our 2012 that show its blacked out grill. Used matte black vinyl wrap off of Amazon. http://stevecoram.blogspot.com/

Using clone ELM327 Bluetooth OBDII adapter with Leaf

For some reason, my phone will not sustain a wireless charge (qi standard) while the app is running. Currently using v.25p1, and will test with previous versions in the coming days. It is definitely something with having the app running that is stopping the wireless charging after a few...

does the navigation system automatically update maps?

I am considering purchasing the mapping update for our 2012 LEAF if it also includes some of the nice mapping features that the 2013 has (Google Point of Interest and ECO routing for the map guidance). Does anybody know if the SD card update also includes these features?

Fast(er) Level 1 Charging on 2013 or EVSEUpgrade?

We have both a 2012 LEAF SL and a 2013 SL. The one time that both were simultaneously charging at Level 1 it seemed that they were charging at the same speed, or lack thereof. Today, we Level 1 charged on the 2013 for less than two hours, using our new EVSEUpgrade unit. The vehicle was charging...

All EV Rally, BC2BC-2013, 1500 miles from Canada to Mexico

We may be right there with you! Actually, this just made me realize of the high probability of actually seeing other rally cars at random places along the way. This is just too much fun--thank you, Tony, for organizing this event!

All EV Rally, BC2BC-2013, 1500 miles from Canada to Mexico

I am interested in learning more about this... With the EVSEUpgrade now in hand, and a half dozen plug options, will we be disqualified for charging at, say, a park, or some random person's house if we need an emergency charge during the rally? Also, more questions about charging at private...

All EV Rally, BC2BC-2013, 1500 miles from Canada to Mexico

I'm bummed--we'll miss this party. Our itinerary has us near Santa Monica on the night of July 7th. There has been so much planning involved in this trip (we're also driving the return via a different route), that changes this close to departure are not easily accomplished. Granted, much of...
