On my morning d0g walk there is a red 3 with a glass top. It almost wants me to purchase it. It is a beautiful car! . But I am happy with my IoniQ.

Musk was too late for me. I am an alternative driver.

I HAD A SILVER ISUZU TROOPER. I am really not fond of silver. The silver black color is nice. Pure silver is not for me. I do not see a M3 in my future. I am happy so far with my IoniQ.. As a retired person the Hyundai's range works for me.

Thanks to a post elsewhere:
"Pricing changed again, AP (single lane) now standard.... SR is a software limited SR+." SR and LR RWD available by calling or via stores.
https://www.tesla.com/blog/update-our-vehicle-lineup

And leasing of 3 will be available with NO purchase option at end of lease.

And the base model 3 I've been waiting for just got a free upgrade to plus. I can't wait!
That's not how I read it. It's a software limited SR+ w/reduced range and functionality.

SR+ price has also gone up to $39.5K.

yes, but I put my order in within minutes of it being offered, so I have a configured order for $35k. Zero options. In 2016 that car was to have a solid roof. I'm getting an upgrade to full glass roof. It was to have manual adjust cloth seats. I'm now going to get power adjusted premium seats with seat heaters (that will be disabled.) I'm getting a larger battery that will be software limited which should help with battery life. It was going to have a black plastic insert across the dash, now it will have a wood insert in the dash. The longer I wait on this order the better the car gets!

You're probably right on the above. I wouldn't be surprised if they use a plastic insert though. The rest, they'll probably keep on the SR.

For me, a glass roof is NOT an upgrade. Don't want it. As I said in another thread, I worry that it'll be a long-term money pit due to cracking and an extra large piece of glass susceptible to debris damage. Even if insurance ends up covering strikes, that'll eventually lead to higher insurance rates.

I suspect this is a prelude to eventually canceling the SR and making the $39.5K SR+ the minimum. Tesla can say "see, we offered a $35K car and "nobody" wanted it", just like they did w/the 40 kWh S.

Sickening.

^^^
For reference and those who didn't follow 40 kWh Model S long ago, here's some old info:
https://web.archive.org/web/20130105035307/http://www.teslamotors.com/blog/2013-model-s-price-increase - has original Model S pricing
https://web.archive.org/web/20130401060255/http://www.teslamotors.com/about/press/releases/tesla-model-s-sales-exceed-target

Now the cheapest S starts at $85K. I noticed at https://www.tesla.com/models/design#battery, they're still offering AP for $3K. I wonder if that'll go away and they'll raise the S price?

Sickening? Really? To me, what is sickening is not the original SR but the original LEAF advertised and sold as a 100-mile vehicle that never was even close. Even more “sickening” is the fact that 7 years later the crap battery is only capable of 35 miles. That’s sickening in a vehicle that in 2012 cost 10% more than today’s SR and more even than the SR+.

What drops out of the sky in your area? Other than my windshield nothing ever hits the roof or back window of my cars. Sure must be something large to damage glass. Most reputable insurance companies cover glass with no rate increase but I doubt the roof of a car is a concern. How many silly excuses can you come up with as to why you won’t buy one? If the roof was metal would it be that you don’t want to pay for AP hardware because you won’t use it? You and Loren should come up with a 100 reasons I won’t buy a Tesla spreadsheet. Non-buyers would find it useful.

Sounds like a robust CPO market is coming! :)

That too. The whole EV scene is sickening frankly, but Tesla is in a special league.

Yes the best selling league.

Per Tesla:

"As a result, Model 3 Standard will now be a software-limited version of the Standard Plus, and we are taking it off the online ordering menu, which just means that to get it, customers will need to call us or visit any one of the several hundred Tesla stores".

The M3 "circus" continues:

Tesla has also halted online sales of its $35,000 Model 3, meaning the lowest-priced version available on the net for order is now the $39,500 Standard Plus (which includes Autopilot). The lowest-priced model can still be ordered by phone or in stores.

Great way to run a company; Elon "asleep at the wheel"!

You can always go buy another LEAF or upgrade your pack for about $8K. Again, this thread is for those that will never buy a Tesla and must find every opportunity to link to troll sites and show how Tesla is terrible and for those that have sold their degrading LEAFs and bought one. The latter group seems very pleased. Oh, and those that do not own an EV but spend endless hours cross-linking articles on EV sites.

Did I mention this thread is the majority of traffic on MNL or should I say MTESLA now?
