My dealer actually had two in. They showed me the second one sitting in the service bay. That owner is picking it up today sometime.

My car still has not been dropped at my dealer as far as I know. prob sit there for a week before they let me know its in. I''ll be lucky if they dont sell it to someone else!

and they still are unable to give me lease #s but they say they are working in it.

Plus because of the distance from my work it will have to be flat bed delivered initially.

what a PITA.

I wish you the best luck on your delivery arrangements; however, if they go sour, there is a member in this thread http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=445&p=145893#p145893 who, depending on how things go, could leave his car at the dealership. It may be 10 hours away, but if "Leaftogo1" decides to orphan his car, you could call the dealership and negotiate with them. Having options always helps.

This sure sounds familiar.

My pending delivery date isn't quite as close as yours, but my dealer is, also, having problems coming up with lease numbers that match what I expect them to be. I just don't understand how this can be so difficult. I keep getting statements like, "we'll wait for the car to arrive and work out the details, then."

When my dealer was so vague on the initial price quote, I should have switched dealers, then. Live and learn, I guess.

They are getting ready to scam you, count on it. They don't want to give you time to analyze the numbers or arrange other financing. Expect them to add in extra dealer crap, play with the lease rates, and the lease term. Figure out exactly what everything ought to be, and don't let them do it to you.

Of course they are. No doubt about it.

That's why I took one of the sample spreadsheets from the "Nissan Leaf Leasing Information" thread in the Buying/Leasing/Dealerships forum and worked up the numbers, myself (thank you evnow for preparing and posting the documents).

Fortunately, I can pay cash for the car, if I want to, and take the full $7,500 tax credit on my 2011 return, so it's no big deal to me if I don't lease.

I was just hoping that this would be different from all the other the new car purchases I've gone through. It's as if I just walked in off the street this past weekend and asked the dealer if I could purchase a LEAF and was told that one would arrive in about four weeks and to come back in then. There was no sense that the LEAF mentioned was one that I had specifically ordered three months ago. From their perspective it was just another Sentra or Altima coming in on a truck to add to their inventory.

So much for putting in a deposit, specifying the trim, color, etc., then asking for a quote and waiting around for three months. Except for possibly having the right-of-first-offer to a LEAF, due to arrive at Weston Nissan in about three weeks, it turned out to be a complete waste of time.

Just brought home our LEAF today. We ordered on July 28, and received notice on Friday that it would be ready today. The wife has already proclaimed it to be hers and insisted on driving home herself!

Criswell Nissan, Germantown, MD. We were their first LEAF delivery. I had a good experience with their staff, and would recommend this dealer.

still no word on my car, due by the 8th

interestting that I see 2012's in inventory at local dealers with higher vins than mine

but still NO car for me!

My Leaf is in and I'll pick it up tomorrow, if lease and trade work out OK. I''m in N.VA and my date changed from week of 11/8 to 11/1 today.

I would too, Doron! Chris at Criswell has been my go-to guy for a long time now! Congratulations on being the second EVA/DC member to own a LEAF (Dave Davison being the first by far!)

And for the record: I am electric (too); but stranger still: Nissan needs a way-back machine! :)

Nova may I ask waht dealer or area you are in

my car is still MIA :|

Dealer near Dulles airport.

There are 2 I consider near the Airport, Nissan of Chantilly where you would have dealt with my friend Justin who is moving on the the Finance Department but is still the LEAF go-to guy and Aaron's Sterling Browns, now rebranded as Brown's Dulles Nissan; they have a rotating staff between Carry, Dimitry and Jim I never know who's their LEAF specialist this month to next which is why despite liking Aaron I decided to go with Nissan of Chantilly. Nissan of Chantilly is near the Chantilly Autopark near Stonecroft and Brown's Dulles Nissan is next door to the Wegmans, for those not in the know. :)

It did seem odd, that with such a low VIN number, your delivery date would be pushed to mid November. You might want to call your dealer and ask if they’ve received the invoice for your car, or if they could call you when the invoice arrives. Dealers will, typically, get the invoices at least a day or two prior to when the car is delivered to them.
