Discuss the 32A, Plug-In, Universal-Voltage, Adjustable Max-Current EVSE by SPX here.
The $490 "Voltec" 16A EVSE is discussed in another thread.

So we know NEC article 625 states that a 240v EVSE "shall be permanently connected and fastened in place". Therefore I have to wonder if a company, such as SPX, would actually market this product in the U.S. It seems like the liability would be too high. I suppose they could market a small 240v EVSE with no connector and magically some Chinese outfit starts selling 240v connectors on Ebay, which the consumer could adapt to the EVSE themselves.garygid said:Discuss the 32A Plug-In EVSE by SPX here. That's great! Please post where it says that. Thanks!garygid said:NEC 625 specifically allows for plug-in use of properly designed
240v (L2) EVSEs, at least for indoor use.
Leviton, EVCA, and now SPX all say that they are coming out with them.

EVSE comes out?
This is the first EVSE I have seen with these Universal Features:
1. Plug-In to "standard" sockets to use.
2. Universal, apparently can use both L1 and L2 voltages.
3. Field-Settable "max-current" (32A max, but how easily changed?
4. Small, so easy to transport (5" wide x 4" deep x 14" high)
5. Relatively light weight, 16 pounds including cord.
Hopefully it will live up to these descriptions, and still be affordable.
Or, other, similar but less expensive units will become available.

There is a separate thread on the Voltec, apparently for Volt "owners" only.
